The 2012 Eugene Marathon events saw a record 8500 registered runners as well as new courses and finishes for the 5K and the Duck Dash for kids. The Duck Dash covered .7 miles and finished on Hayward Field at the same finish line as the full and half marathons. Many Duck Dash participants completed a full marathon by the time they crossed the finish line as they had the option of running or walking 25.5 miles over a period of time prior to race day and logging their progress as they go. All 2013 Eugene Marathon finishers in all events will again finish on Hayward Field.
