The end of the school year is only 2 months away. In May and June we tend to get a lot of calls for help with final exams in the senior grades.
The majority of our clients take a break from tutoring over the summer. About 20% of our regular clientele will continue tutoring over the summer.  We also get calls from summer school students who need extra help.
We will continue to offer new potential tutoring sessions to you over the summer months via email. Please reply to let us know if you are available or not over the summer months. Please understand that in the summer, family routines are broken. Scheduling consistent sessions becomes a challenge. Clients and teachers have to work around their vacation time. We suggest that you call your client to reconfirm your session the day before.
 

After 8 years of connecting tutors with students, Academic Advantage is now offering a franchise opportunity. Our main office in the Lower Mainland will continue to serve this area. Franchise opportunities will be available on Vancouver Island and other areas throughout B.C.

With our new system we are able to contact more tutors quickly through email. As a result, sometimes we get more than one tutor who accepts an assignment. We then have to choose the best match. The following is what we consider when matching a tutor to a student:
·Quickest response to our email.
·Location of tutor's home and work in relation to the student's home. If the location is good for you please let us know in your email response.
·Tutor's qualifications and experience in the subject. If you are quite familiar with a subject please let us know.
·Feedback on the tutor from past clients.
·Tutor's history of completing paperwork  and sending in administration fees on time.
 

Academic Advantage continues to increase its clientele despite the world wide recession. Parents still value their child's education. As we've grown we have been updating our technology in efforts to create a more efficient system. In January, 2008 we implemented our customized database. Instead of phoning tutors we began to email them. There were a few glitches and setbacks. Thank you for your patience. Now we love our database and it has improved our ability to communicate and make matches.
 

We receive a lot of calls around this time of year. For various reasons clients call to request a receipt for their tutoring sessions for the previous year. You may receive a phone call from us as we must verify the amount you received from your clients in 2008. We calculate the number of tutoring hours you reported on your monthly invoice.
