Greetings!

The amount of rain we've had locally has turned Spring into mud season. There's a temptation to get the garden work going but also the realization that it's just too wet to accomplish anything. Business is similar. There are some projects that just need to wait for the right opportunity. In those cases patience yields the best results.
Being In Sync

One of my clients recently commented that she feels now the way she felt years ago when she first started her business - everything is possible and it's fun to be at the shop every day. I was thinking about this as I worked out the other day. For me, working out is not fun. It's work. But, the time seems to pass more quickly if I listen to music, clear my head of distractions, and match my pace to the beat. Then it becomes almost effortless and I can increase the intensity without as quickly feeling the effects.

I'm sure you've experienced a similar state - dancing to music you love, a perfect tennis stroke or golf swing, perhaps even a long distance drive. Everything was in sync and you felt like you could anticipate everything that would happen next. You were focused on the here and now, you weren't letting fear, doubts or uncertainty influence your actions, and you were "living in the moment". You probably began to notice synchronicity - things happening coincidentally that seemed related but shouldn't be.

You should realize by now that you can have that feeling whenever you want. You just need to create the circumstances that make it possible. In business that means having the procedures and people in place that allow you to spend time focusing on the things that create value in your business. It could be sales, or marketing, or developing your human resources, or interaction with your customers. But, whatever it is, what you focus on results in profitable revenue.

As you go through your day, notice those things that keep you from being in sync. Change those and you will recapture that feeling of exuberance - you are in control and all things are possible.

Focus on Sales

You've probably experienced a situation when you weren't in sync with a prospect. What did you do? Did you continue to plow forward or did you stop and take stock of the situation? Remember, if you and your prospect aren't on the same page, you are probably wasting your time - and his!

Networking Tips
The whole point of networking is to build relationships. That begins by finding common ground. In any conversation, when you get the feeling you are out of sync with your conversation partner you probably are. You need to get back on common ground or move on. You aren't there to dig yourself a deeper hole.

What is Coaching?

Coaching is a process.  Here are the A-B-C's:

Admitting a need for help.

Becoming aware of your challenges and opportunities.

Committing to change.

Developing goals, and the plans to reach those goals.

Evaluating results.

Coaching is about discovery leading to change. Consulting often starts with change and then you discover the results were not what you intended.
