Thanks to you!!

You don't hear it often...

thank you card

...especially these days, but we had a really great year.  The opening of our new farm in Matunuck for its first full year and our new corn maze were certainly the highlights of the year for me.  And there was a ton of other good news too.  Our landscape installation division and the good ole store in town all exceeded my expectations in a not too good economy.  Obviously, none of this would have happened without you!  So let me, and all of our staff, thank you for making it all possible.  Not just for spending your hard earned money here, but for all of the wonderful positive feedback and encouragement as well.  It really helps and is much appreciated!  We hope to make 2011 even better!!

For us, the Christmas season begins the day after Halloween

The store has now been totally made over into a Holiday wonderland.  Stop in and see what Pam and all of the elves have done this year.  Don't forget, we have closed our Matunuck location for the winter.  We plan on reopening there a few days before Easter.

All year long, I try to remind people that their evergreens can really take a beating over the winter...

wiltpruf
...especially broad-leaved evergreens like rhododendrons and holly.  I would bet you've seen the rhododendrons "wilting" in the middle of January on a cold morning.  This wilting is from water loss caused by cold and wind.  The plant is actually protecting itself from excessive water loss.  Did you ever try to drink a Del's Lemonade through a straw?  It just doesn't work that well.  Remember, the water is a little bit frozen in the winter and you can't suck ice crystals up through the roots.  Eventually, if they lose too much water, the leaves will actually drop off and the plant can even die.  To prevent this morbid outcome, you need to spray these plants now with Wilt-pruf.  Wilt-pruf is a wax-like coating that helps to lock in the moisture and prevent water loss.  Spray it on now and see how happy your hollies can be!

And to show our appreciation...
