Join us for an evening in the garden!
knockouts
Now who wouldn't want this scene in their own back yard?  Roses are, for many, the holy grail of the garden.  So beautiful, yet unattainable.   That is until now.  For years we had sold hundreds and hundreds of hybrid tea roses, climbers, floribundas and a whole lot more.  And while many people met with success, many got an education in the care of roses that they weren't expecting.  Today, with the knockout rose series, you too can have roses like these with very minimal effort, no pesticides and no problems. Stop by our farm in Matunuck this Thursday at 6pm to learn more about this and a few other exceptional roses.  Jim Reck, our weekend salesman, will be giving a presentation that will teach you everything you need to know.  Come a little early to enjoy a glass of wine while taking in the scenery and to smell the roses of course!
It's really all about the water...

falls

In case you hadn't heard, there has been an outdoor watering ban in effect in our area.  Of course, if you are lucky enough to have a well of your own, the ban doesn't apply to you.  And it's nice to know that the municipalties weren't out of water, they just couldn't pump it fast enough.  But this is a good time to reflect on how we all use our water and the way we water our plants.  We always encourage our customer to water infrequently and heavily, in order to encourage your plants to develop deep and broad root systems.  This way, when the inevitable water ban comes, your plants can survive it.  One good idea we suggest, is to use soaker hoses.  Regular sprinklers are only 35% efficient in delivering water to your plant's roots, where they need it.  Soaker hoses, buried under your mulch, are nearly 100% efficient.  It is a big difference and they're very easy to use.  If you need help, just ask us and we'd be glad to share the "how to's" with you.
It's coming soon!!

 maze

If you remember, last year we had a pretty cool, little maze of sunflowers.  This year it's mostly corn and it's a lot better and cooler too.  It's cut in a rain forest theme and there will be more about that coming soon.  Because we know you loved the sunflowers, we included plenty of those too.  We've been working on it for months and we are almost ready to go, so keep your computer on for the big announcement sometime soon.
