What is that?
Anyone who has ever driven to Providence has seen these forsythia blooming this week, every spring, for the last 25 years. And every year, I get the same question, "What is that azalea on the side of route four with the forsythia?" Well, it's not an azalea at all. It is 'PJM' Rhododendron and it's starting to bloom right now. If you've ever wanted to create this stunning combination, now is the time. It's a great time to plant, and with our first-ever, spring shrub sale, you'll save a bundle.

As long as we're out driving around...
'Tis the season for Red Maples. When most of us think of red maples this isn't what we think of. But, believe it or not, that is what you're looking at. That red haze you see all over town is the blossom of the red maple, Acer Rubrum. The reason it's called "Red Maple" is because of these blooms. Its leaves are actually green, at least until October. The tree we think of when we hear red maple is usually the Japanese red maple, Acer Palmatum or sometimes, the Norway Maple, Acer Platanoides. We currently don't carry the Norway Maple, as it is thought to be invasive. If your dying to have this red haze in your yard, (and spectacular fall color too) we've got a bunch at a great price.
