Greetings!
We started the new year with full force!...a year filled with plans, hope, the best intentions, service and dedication. Suddenly, our attention was diverted by the devastating earthquake in Haiti that killed thousands of people, left others trapped under rubble and hundreds of thousands homeless without basic food and water.
We may not have full wings like angels, but we can
still drop a feather of light into the lives of others.
It goes without saying how much admiration I have for the spirit and determination of the Haitian people. Even before this devastating earthquake, Haiti was the poorest nation in the Western Hemisphere. Yet, despite living in extreme material poverty, the people of Haiti have always shown and enormous amount of endurance, dignity and hope, as well as deep spiritual faith. I'm extremely touched by the generosity of our American people and the rest of the world to bring relief to Haiti in its people's worse time of need. The human spirit is still driven by a powerful unity and an outpour of generosity during the most difficult times. This love spreads hope.
I ask you to please join us in this special networking event where together with the Doral Airport West Chamber of Commerce and through The Rotary Club of Doral and Rotary Club of Doral Foundation, we will do our part in bringing some help to the people of Haiti. As a Rotarian, I must put "Service above all" and as a human being, I cannot turn my back on suffering, if I can do even the minimum to relieve it. I'm sure you feel the same way. So, let's continue growing our businesses as we network with other professionals and bring relief to Haiti. Please bring any of the following items to the event: First aid supplies, water, flashlights and batteries, canned and dry foods, manual can openers, baby food, diapers, and hygiene items (e.g. tooth brushes, soap, feminine products, etc.)
I look forward to seeing you there! Thank you for your support! Please see below for event information.
In unity,
