Order My Steps  DOZ Jane Cottrill

By Jane Cottrill

I awoke late for work. It was imperative that I get to my prayer closet and I only had an hour before leaving for work so I did an abbreviated morning ritual. Quickly brushing my hair, I began twisting it into a bun at the back of my neck. At that moment the Lord spoke clearly "leave your hair down".

This is something I never do, as a nurse, my hair left down could be a potential risk. But there was no doubt in my mind that He had instructed me to leave it down. I finished quickly and ran to the church to pray.

My son was going to court that morning. He had made some very poor and immature choices and he was going to go before the judge. As his mother I wanted to be by his side but could not.

Once at our church I fell on my face and began to call out to the Lord. Only moments into my prayer I felt angels ministering me. I prayed for our son to not be alone and for angels to carry him thru what lay ahead. It was a prayer time I will never forget. I realized that morning that I did have power on my head because of the angels (I Corinthians 11:10).

As I arrived at the clinic a friend from admitting came around the corner and exclaimed "Jane your hair!" No one had ever seen my knee-length hair down before. She said "it is angelic!" The choice of her words was another confirmation that the Lord had heard my prayer and was taking care of Nate.

Later that day I received a phone call from our son. We had not discussed my morning activities. He reported his day to me. "Mom I walked into the room at the court house and it was filled; people sitting in chairs, people standing around the perimeter of the room and more sitting on the floor. I sat down between two empty chairs and waited for my turn to be called before the judge. No one ever sat in either of the chairs beside me. When my name was called, I did not feel alone but that someone on either side of me arose and walked with me to the bench. I never once felt anxious or alone. I know God is ordering my steps and is going to go through this with me."

Today Nate is a licensed minister. He loves God with his heart, soul, mind, and strength. God continues to order his steps.

Order My Steps  DOZ Sherry Phillips By Sherry Phillips

Have you ever been lost? I remember as a child we had gone on a family picnic. I went to get something but could not find our car. What a frightening experience as I wandered from car to car with tears flowing down my cheeks and praying that someone would find me. My older sister came to my rescue and took me back to our family picnic. What a wonderful feeling to have someone guide you to your destination.

By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place, which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went. Our GPS would not be able to help us with this one. Abraham was confident though that he had heard from God. Not only was Abraham listening to God but he was obedient. Abraham had totally surrendered his will to God and was willing to walk wherever God lead him.

A lady earned a living by peddling her wares. Each day  she would toss a stick in the air. Whichever way it pointed she went. One day a man saw her tossing the stick: once, twice, then three times. He asked, "What are doing?" She said, "I'm letting God show me which way to go." Curiously he asked, "But why did you throw it up three times? She replied, "Because the first two times He was pointing me in the wrong direction!"

Sometimes God leads us to places we do not like. I was in one of those places; it was a job that I hated. I prayed, cried and yes even pleaded with God, "Please get me out of this place". Do you know what God said? "You are exactly where I want you to be." God's plan for your life always involves your gifts, His timing, and being in the right place.

God will honor you when you are where He wants you to be. God has promised to bless you, but sometimes He has to reposition you in order to receive His blessing. We need to use God's Positioning System (GPS).

This song is my prayer;

Order my steps in Your Word Dear Lord

Lead me guide me every day

Send Your anointing Father, I pray.

Order my steps in Your Word

Please order my steps in Your Word

Food for Thought

Jeff Arnold preached at Because of the Times 2012, and said the Spirit of God spoke to him about how Rizpah beat the vultures and jackals away from her sons that were hanged. If Rizpah can do that for her sons that were DEAD how much more should we be doing that for our LIVING children? Help me Jesus, to intercede for my backslidden son as never before. Jesus is going to do something, we will get the attention of the KING when we intercede. (See 2 Samuel 21:8-14 for the story).

Hello,  I just wanted to say thanks to all of you who take the time to do what you do for the Lord. You don't know the lives you reach.

I get the DOZ newsletters, and really enjoy reading them.  I read this tonight, and REALLY needed it. I was going through something personal.
Sometimes, life as we know it just shakes us and I was there today. Reading The Refining Process by Mary Loudermilk, really touched me.  I simply wanted to say Thanks, and God knows when we need something.
It's great to know there are women out there doing what God has called them to do.  I believe God knew this would happen at this time in my life, and He let Sister  Loudermilk write what she did soI could get it when I did. GOD BLESS ALL OF YOU
     Sincerely yours in the Lord,
     Tamra H, Jena, La.
To Submit Articles

Keep the articles newsletters at no more than 400 words.  A lot can be said in that many words.
Keep the article relevant. For example; the Daughters of Zion newsletter should always in some way refer to praying for our local children.  This could be by sending in reports or testimonials as to the various ways services are conducted in order to stay fresh and connected.  Encourage readers to share methods that have been used to involve the community and  bring in new  faces - How the prayer meeting is, or was advertised, praise reports on children receiving the Holy Ghost or prodigals returning.  Whether or not various groups include the children and youth to participate.  How names are remembered or prayed for so as not to overlook anyone. Remember that many of the children on the lists are adults.

Columbine Student's Father 12 Years Later...

Darrell Scott, father of Rachel, a victim of the Columbine School shootings in Littleton, Colorado, was invited to address the House Judiciary Committee's subcommittee. There is no doubt that God sent this man as a voice crying in the wilderness.

Following is a portion of the transcript:
"Since the dawn of creation there has been both good & evil in the hearts of men and women.  The death of my daughter, Rachel, and the deaths of that heroic teacher, and the other eleven children who died must not be in vain.  Their blood cries out for answers.

"The first recorded act of violence was when Cain slew his brother Abel. The villain was not the club he used. Neither was it the National Club Association, (NCA). The true killer was Cain, and the reason for the murder could only be found in his heart.

"In the days that followed the Columbine tragedy, I was amazed at how quickly fingers began to be pointed at groups such as the NRA. I do not represent or defend the NRA - I don't believe they are responsible. If I believed they had anything to do with Rachel's murder I would be their strongest opponent. Columbine was not just a tragedy -- it was a spiritual event that should force us to look where the real blame lies!  I wrote a poem that expresses my feelings best.

Your laws ignore our deepest needs,
 Your words are empty air.
 You've stripped away our heritage,
 You've outlawed simple prayer.
 Now gunshots fill our classrooms,
 And precious children die
 You seek for answers everywhere,
 And ask the question "Why?"
 You regulate restrictive laws,
 Through legislative creed..
And yet you fail to understand,
That God is what we need!

"We are three-part beings consisting of body, mind, and spirit.  When we refuse to acknowledge a third part of our make-up, we create a void that allows evil, prejudice, and hatred to rush in and wreak havoc.  Spiritual presences were within our educational systems for most of our nation's history.  Many major colleges began as theological seminaries. What has happened to us as a nation?  We have refused to honor God, and in so doing, we open the doors to hatred and violence. When something as terrible as Columbine occurs -- politicians immediately look for a scapegoat such as the NRA then seek to pass more restrictive laws that contribute to erode away our personal and private liberties. We do not need more restrictive laws.  Metal detectors would not have stopped Eric and Dylan.  Gun laws can stop someone who spends months planning this type of massacre.  The real villain lies within our own hearts.

"As my son saw his friends murdered, he did not hesitate to pray in school.  I defy any law or politician to deny him that right!  I challenge every young person in America, and around the world, to realize that on April 20, 1999, at Columbine High School prayer was brought back to our schools.  Dare to move with a sacred disregard for legislation that violates your God-given right to communicate with Him.  To those who would point your finger at the NRA -- I give a challenge. Dare to examine your own heart before casting the first stone!

"My daughter's death will not be in vain! The young people of this country will not allow that to happen again."

Daughters of Zion  challenges you to include your local school in your prayers!
