Any concern too small to be turned into a prayer is too small to be made into a burden.

Three Priorities of Prayer... - The salvation of our children (Isa 49:25; Psalm 144:12; Isa 43:5-6).
- That they take ownership of the faith at an accountable age (I John 2:25-28; James 1:25).
- That they enter into the ministry of the Lord''s harvest (Matt. 9:38).

| Brenda's Story | |
By Delisa Cox
At thirteen years of age, she was voted school queen and began secretly dating a handsome, talk of the town, law-major student from a nearby college who had been a high-school homecoming king. One Sunday night while her mother played the accordion, and her father was in the pulpit of the church he pastored in rural Louisiana, Brenda slipped out of the congregation. At the first chance possible, her mother went to find Brenda. Not finding her in the church, she went next door to the parsonage. There she discovered Brenda had run away with her boyfriend. Heartbroken and distressed, she returned to the church service and told her husband the dreadful news as soon as church dismissed. Their hearts were desperate and shattered and they began to pray fervently for their missing daughter. Where was their little girl? She was two months shy of her 14th birthday. Brenda called later to inform them she was married! They had lied about her age to the justice of the peace.
Brenda's rosy picture soon turned ugly. Her once charming boyfriend became a violent, abusive husband. Not only was her spirit broken, her body was too. Periodically, Brenda called her parents, and always found them warm and welcoming. Nearly eleven years later, with four children and $4.00, Brenda called to ask her Dad if he could move her home. She found job as a waitress and a place to live. Addicted to nicotine, she was in the party scene that included alcohol and drugs. Her parents continually prayed for Brenda. Brenda's younger sister had a burden for her. On one occasion, she begged Brenda to give her life to God. Brenda replied, "Look, I know you care, and I'm glad you do, but I'm not interested. Someone has to populate hell, and it might as well be me. Now leave me alone!" Occasionally, she would attend an Easter, Mother's Day, or Christmas church service, but that was the extent of her church life. As a child, she had been baptized and had received the gift of the Holy Ghost. Though her parents refused to "hound" her about God, she knew they were always praying for her salvation. Each time her father went on a thirty-day fast, she always knew she was part of the reason. Brenda later said, "I had to stay away from church because of the convicting power of God. Every backslider hates an altar call." Having had the word of God placed in her as a child, she had too much knowledge of the Bible not to be concerned about her soul. Her life was miserable. There was no joy, nor peace, nor fun. God began talking to her in His still small voice. Finally, approximately thirty years later, Brenda walked through the doors of her Dad's church. What a joyous sight it was to see her and her parents dancing hand-in-hand that day as God restored her in His kingdom! Brenda has never looked back!
Epilogue: In 2011, Brenda will celebrate her 20th year of being back in God's sheepfold. To put it in her mother's words, Brenda is still "gung-ho for Jesus"! During those nearly thirty years of praying for Brenda's deliverance from her sinful life, her parents never gave up on her redemption. They claimed God's promise of salvation for their daughter. What God did for Brenda, He will do "for you, your children, and to those that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call".

| Back to School | By Dianna Tuttle
Anticipation of attending college far away from home, making new friends and the challenges that lay ahead danced in my mind. Wow! Back to school again. This meant more studying, maturing, taking a job and coping with homesickness. Love at first sight? Yes, but when I met and married the man of my dreams, the classroom décor changed; school was back in session. The course I enrolled in was: How to be a wife and a preacher's wife at that. Then heart wrenching news from the doctor, "You will never have children." At Camp Meeting, T. W. Barnes told about miracle after miracle, proclaiming by faith God still works miracles. God performed another miracle and our son, Matthew, was born. Yes, it was back to school again with so much to learn about being a mother. Moving to another continent, country and city, meant back to school again. Matthew was seventeen months old and I was seven months pregnant. Pastoring a church and living away from the familiar surroundings of America produced many challenges and learning opportunities. What wonderful life changing and amazing experiences it produced in our lives and ministry. Two months after arriving in Germany, Anna was born. Grandparents could not be there. Still so much to learn: adapting to another culture, speaking a foreign language, being a mother without being surrounded by our families. God was so good to give us a wonderful church family who helped to fill the emptiness. Appointed as Missionaries to The Netherlands--back to school again. There was deputation travels, meeting many new people, adapting to another new culture, learning another language, helping our children adapt to all the changes. Today both our children are involved in different types of ministries. As they train their children and face life's new challenges, they can feel like it is "back to school" again as well. Gratitude fills my heart for the Daughters of Zion who have prayed for, taught and encouraged us as we "go back to school" in the many phases, stages and circumstances along life's pathway. What a wonderful heritage we have. Dianna and her husband, Mike, have been involved in Foreign Missions since 1982. First in Germany, for the last 26 years they have served as Missionaries to The Netherlands and most recently have been appointed as Regional Director of Europe and the Middle East. The Tuttles have two children, a wonderful daughter-in-law and three charming granddaughters.

| Praise Reports | My seven-year-old grandson received the Holy Ghost last Friday morning at Junior Camp. It was beautiful! A five-year-old from our church was filled on Thursday night and both will be baptized on Sunday. That makes seven children filled in the last two months. -Debbi Cantu, LM President, CO

| Focused Prayer - Walk the Talk | |
Week 1 - Thoughts
- Change our negative thinking into positive thoughts.
- Father, fix our thoughts on what is true and honorable and right.
- Convict us Lord when we are doing things we shouldn't be doing.
- Reveal to me when I have accepted a lie as truth.
- Lord, give us strength not to be controlled by sin.
- Guide our thoughts and may we be led by Your Holy Spirit.
- Lord, build our faith and trust in You to provide all our needs.
Week 2 - Words
- Enable us to put our words into action.
- Help us to rise above getting even with those who hurt us.
- Keep my mouth from speaking any evil or untrue word.
- Lord, may every word we speak reflect your purity, love, and kindness.
- Give us the courage to speak boldly of our faith in Jesus Christ.
- Father, when we are hurt or criticized, help us not to lash out at others.
- Lord, help us to control our anger, for a few words spoken out of anger can destroy a relationship that took years to build.
Week 3 - Actions
- Lord, give us a burning desire to see others come to Jesus Christ - a desire so strong that it overshadows our own problems.
- Help us to live up to God's standard of morality.
- May our lives reflect God's power working in us.
- Teach us to worship You with our whole heart and reverence Your Holy Name.
- Help us become doers of the Word, putting Your Word into action.
- Lord, we are Your servants, lead and guide us in everything we do.
- Lord, help us to walk the talk without hypocrisy in a way that lets others see the difference that genuine faith makes in a person's life.
Week 4 - Walk
- Help us to separate ourselves from anything that is not holy.
- Remind us Lord, that we are not merely Your followers, but that we are Your representatives.
- Lord, don't allow the circumstances or people's expectations to control our walk with You.
- Fill us with Your grace and power to walk in integrity.
- Encourage us Lord to make prayer a top priority in our lives.
- Allow our hearts to respond to God's call for us to seek His face.
- Lord, may our walk with You be such that we can remain guiltless before You and blameless before the world.
