Rejoice - God Has a Plan!  By Kaye Singleton
DOZ Kaye Singleton"And Pharaoh charged all his people, saying, Every son that is born ye shall cast into the river; and every daughter ye shall save alive."  Exodus 1:22 (KJV)

So you think you've got problems; try being in Jochebed's shoes trying to hide a baby boy so he would not be killed by the pharaoh. God gave her the plan like he does with all of our unique situations.

What joy as the story unfolds in Genesis 2:1-10. Mama had a few years with her baby boy. WOW!  Things looked bleak until God stepped in. Jochebed was given a short time to instill in Moses who he was and that the God of Israel was with them. I believe she did just that. As Jochebed rocked him and cuddled baby Moses perhaps she sang this lullaby to him:
Rock-a-bye Mosey in Mama's arms.
You're one of God's chosen no need for alarm.
You're not an Egyptian; God has a plan.
One day He will lead you out of this land.
She knew she would only have a few years to impart truth to him. Time was of the essence for Jochebed. It took a while, 40 years in fact but one day all she spoke boomeranged in his head and he decided he wanted to go back where he belonged. He didn't want to be like those around him.  "And when he was full forty years old, it came into his heart to visit his brethren the children of Israel."  Acts 7:23 (KJV).  The NLT reads "One day when he was 40-years-old, he decided to visit his relative, the people of Israel."

Mothers leave a remarkable mark on their children especially their boys.,Innate in all of us is that of hearing Mama's voice.  As she goes about her daily routine during the nine months that she carries us we hear her voice. She rubbed us and spoke to us even while we lay inside her womb. As we grew we knew the sound of her voice when she called our name. When she used our first, middle and last name we knew we were in big trouble.

The scripture tells us that "He chose" after 40 years to be with his family rather than stay where he was. To continue being grouped with the Egyptians he decided was not where he wanted to be. He wanted to be a part of those who worshiped the one true God.

I'm glad today to be a part of the family of God. My heritage goes back three generations and that's what I choose to continue to be a part of. I can still hear the voice of my Mother at the end of a prayer meeting at the church. She said, "Kaye, don't stop praying, even if you have to pray by yourself."

My Mother has gone on to be with the Lord, but I appreciate her telling me over and over again that there was only one God! The legacy of prayer she left me is a lingering memory that I revisit often and rejoice.

Praying for the One Lost Sheep  By Helen Alphin
DOZ Helen Alphin
In January 2008, we had our first DOZ prayer meeting. With unseasonable tornadoes, touching down all around us the ladies of the church met to pray. God met us there and blessed abundantly. We have consistently met for 22 months touching God for our children.

God told us in Jeremiah 31: 17 "And there is hope in thine end, saith the LORD, that thy children shall come again to their own border." With that promise, we began to pray for our lost children. Satan would like to make us think that we have no hope, but as always, not only is he a liar, he is the father of lies.

We have prayed for our schoolchildren, their schools and teachers. We have started a pre-service prayer where our children are learning to pray for the service, the ministry, and each other. We have had three children receive the Holy Ghost and be baptized, with several others seeking the Holy Ghost.
Sometimes Satan makes us feel certain people are beyond God's reach. But we know that it is God's desire to see all come to Him.

We compiled a list of over 200 unsaved friends and family. Armed with this list the ladies called on God for their salvation.

In Matthew 18 Jesus tells of the one lost sheep. The shepherd has 100 sheep, when one goes astray, what does the shepherd do? One might think, what is just one sheep? We have 99. But when that one lost sheep is yours it does not matter how many are safe in the fold, what matters is that one out in the cold!

God has truly blessed our efforts and is bringing back our children. On Easter Sunday, 2009 we had seven backsliders in service. We have had a total of 17 backsliders return to God's fold. Some are here in our church, some attend other churches, but the important thing is that they are safe back in fold. Of the 17 backsliders two had been out of church more than 20 years. Many would have marked them as beyond reach. However, they were someone's one lost sheep. Many tears were cried over them. God gave the victory!

We have also had several come to God who has never heard the truth.

When we look back over the last 22 months and see what God has done, we are excited to know he has only just begun to bring our children home!

God is faithful!

New Zealand
God Bless and greetings from the River of Life Church in Ngaruawahia, NZ.

We recently went to DOZ meeting at Brother Addingtons church and there was a mighty move of God on our children in that service so and I spoke to my husband Brother Jules about DOZ.

This is what has happened.

Our church started prayer and fasting every Wednesday. We challenged our youth to join us. The day they joined us we delivered pamphlets for our home friendship group. We prayed for each household as we put them in each mailbox.

That night two people came and the youth saw what God had done just in one day and witnessed with their own eyes what prayer and fasting can do. Each week after that even our younger children wanted to join the church fasting day.

In September, our church had its 2nd birthday and the Lord moved especially in the children and youth. They were interceding and travailing at the altar for each other. Some of these children were 7 years old to 14 years of age.

When I got home that night a thought came to my mind, that seeing we challenged the children to pray and fast with us, we challenged them again to come to our DOZ and bring a photo of their families, get on their own knees and see for themselves again what the power of prayer and fasting can do. It is also about empowering our children to know that they can go directly to God.

We are seeing a mighty move of God and have seen God move even more since we have added corporate prayer with fasting. I hope this has been an encouragement for the DOZ as well. May God Bless you all richly.   -Lynette Matika, NZ

Join Us in a Unified Effort to Seek God's Face
Ladies Ministries of UPCI has declared 2009 as The Year of Seeking. During this year we will seek God's face through fasting and prayer for an awakening in our souls for His heartbeat.

8:00

Unite with us each evening at 8:00 PM (CST) for one minute of prayer as we come before God with humility to seek the paths of righteousness and holy living.

We also ask that you join with us in fasting the first Monday of each month.

"For Ezra had prepared his heart to seek the law of the Lord, and to do it, and to teach in Israel statutes and judgments" (Ezra 7:10).

Want to remember the united minute of prayer each evening?

Daughters of Zion: 1999, World Network of Prayer Director, Thetus Tenney shared an interesting article about the Praying Mothers of Brazil with Gwyn Oakes. Sister Oakes had a burden for this type of ministry and Sister Tenney suggested it as a venture for the Ladies Division. Sister Oakes shared her burden with the National Ladies Committee. Ruth Harvey expressed a desire to work with the program and was chosen as director. From the many titles submitted Daughters of Zion was chosen. Debbie Akers joined as editor of the Daughters of Zion newsletter.
