Do You Know Where Your Children Are? By Donna Ten Eyck, MS District DOZ Coordinator
"It is Ten O'clock, do you know where your children are?"
I remember this question being asked as the announcer was signing off an evening radio program. It was a reminder to parents as to the whereabouts of their children. In this generation of technology we must stop and know the whereabouts of our children.
We are promised in Isaiah 49:25 and in Acts 2: 29 that God will save our children. While Joel 2:28 and Acts 2:17 declares "your sons and your daughters shall prophesy". God not only promised our children could be saved; He said they would be profitable to His Kingdom. We must engender this in our children, when they're setting down, rising up and going through the day. Along with school and life's responsibilities, we must weave God's expectation into the fabric of their lives. Somehow they must take ownership and become active in their faith and understand their life is significant in God's plan. Tragically only two in ten young people (20%) feel they are a significant part of the local church and only one in ten (10%) feel they play an important role in the Kingdom of God. This fosters a disconnection between a child and the church body. Too often the disconnection alienates a child from parents, family and church family. As a result the child struggles to stay faithful. As a pre-teen to young adult, they fall prey to temptations and seducing spirits. Drugs, alcohol and promiscuity are not uncommon and target our children for destruction. Yet there are menacing yet seemingly innocent vices seeking to lay hold on our precious children. These subtle beasts distract and beguile them, even in godly homes, powerful churches and active youth groups.
What are they? Video games, cell phones and computers can become habitual and destructive when unmonitored. Blogging on face book, myspace, Everyone Apostolic or UBUTI have become common places for our children to hang out. While we would never hook up cable television, You tube allows them access to any Hollywood sitcom or movie. Instant messaging and texting from cell phones allow our children to adopt personalities and act them out in word play. Unsupervised these things become the object of their worship. The enemy's express purpose is to entrap our children in a prison of immoral conduct.
We cannot withstand the enemy alone but, as Daughters of Zion we can seek God together in dealing with these evil influences. Praying for understanding to address the issues which confront an entire generation, DOZ meetings bring a unity against destructive forces and an awareness of the technology that may affect our children. Staying involved in their lives and through daily prayer helps us to be sensitive to satan's attacks and prepares us to do whatever is necessary to protect the fruit bearing seed of future generations.

Praise Report |
|
Just wanted to share our report on our 1st DOZ meeting. We had ten ladies that attended our first DOZ meeting, praise God! For us, that is a big number since we started church with three people a year ago and now average twenty-five. Out of the ten attending our DOZ meeting five are members and the other five were visitors.
The power of God was so strong and the Lord touched all of those precious ladies and they are coming back to our regular services. One of the ladies received the Holy Ghost the Wednesday after our first DOZ meeting! We are so thankful and excited for what the Lord is doing! Thank you for all the great ideas posted on the website!

Who are the
Daughters of Zion
and what do they do?
First of all, allow me to begin by saying that DOZ is a powerful ministry of prayer for "Our Children". Who are they? A group of women who unite together in focused prayer; taking on tough issues confronting this generation of children. Unwavering in their commitment to tear down strongholds and turn the tide of immorality opposing young people today, these warriors are relentless against an inexhaustible enemy! Sounds like a difficult battle; yet, one which is fought on a day to day basis individually as mothers and collectively, by the Daughters of Zion, on the first Monday of each month.
While working in the Kingdom of God and laboring in His harvest, often our children, the harvest at our feet, are overlooked. Although we understand the importance of "seeking first the kingdom of God", and "he that winneth souls is wise", as mothers, our first ministry is to insure that the precious seeds sown into the lives of our children are nurtured in love and protected in prayer. DOZ is endeavoring to bring focus back to our precious fruit bearing seed.
Mission: Daughters of Zion are committed to the spiritual preservation of this generation and beyond and the spiritual restoration of previous generations.
Priorities of Prayer: Salvation for our children, that they take ownership of the faith, and become active in the Lord's harvest.

From the Mail Box
I JUST WANT TO take a minute to say, Thank you. It was a blessing to read this newsletter and get new ideas about prayer and/or prayer request. I will include some of these into my personal prayer time. May the Lord continue to bless you all. -Patricia Wolf
THANK YOU. WHAT A wonderful article "The Forgotten Harvest". This is a burden that the Lord has really placed upon my heart - the children that have been raised in the church. I have seen so many (including one of my own) leave the ways of the Lord. I believe we have so many promises and I am claiming everyone of them that my daughter will return to the Lord. How can I get a copy of the article referred to in the "mailbox"? The article I am interested in receiving is "Bind, Loose and the Weapons of Warfare". I am ready and willing to fight this warfare for my soul and the souls of my children and husband! -Patricia Herrera |
