I bring you greetings from sunny Durban, South Africa. We have just had our 4th Ladies National Conference in Bloemfontein.  It was a huge success, Praise the Lord. We had over 500 ladies register and Sis Nancy Grandquist was our special speaker. It was awesome! Please pray for the Ladies Ministries South Africa. Many thanks and God Bless all our wonderful daughters of Zion. Special Greetings to Sis Gwen Oakes.

I am very interesting in receiving the Daughters of Zion newsletter.  I did try to go into it from the newsletter a friend sent me, but it did not go through. It was a great newsletter (August).  I especially enjoyed the "Bind, Loose, and Weapons of Warfare." Thank you so much! -Phyllis McCulloch, Springs of Life Church, Deer Park

The Forgotten Harvest
  By Ruth Harvey

John 4:35 states, "Say not ye, there are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? Behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields, for they are white already to harvest."  Oftentimes this scripture is equated with the harvest in some distant land.  At times we may have felt somewhat unaccountable because those fields are seemingly beyond our sphere of influence or obligation.  But today, right now, the Lord of the harvest is calling us to look upon the field of souls waving right around our feet.  The golden grain is actually brushing against our skirts and leaving their fingerprints on our windows and our hearts.  In reality, God is saying to us, "Look on the fields-" Look out in your backyard and around the house.  The harvest is sleeping in our homes, eating at our tables, riding in our cars, sitting in our church pews and Sunday School classes. Those precious babies sitting our laps with their arms around our necks are eternal souls who will live forever somewhere.  Through the voice of the Spirit they are pleading with us not to forget this most important harvest of all.  Think about it-what does it profit if we win 1000 souls and then lose our own children?!

Some national statistics taken within our ranks have indicated that many churches have lost up to 80% of their young people to the world or false doctrine.  In light of this frightening data, it would behoove us to take drastic action.  It is time to fast and pray like never before because the salvation and preservation of this cherished golden grain is dependent upon us. Isaiah 49: 25 declares, "For I will contend with him that contendeth with thee and I WILL SAVE THY CHILDREN."  I for one intend to lay hold of this covenant promise for what God has promised He is well able to perform!  Will you join with me in claiming and reclaiming this forgotten harvest? "For the promise is unto you and YOUR CHILDREN!"

Week 1 - Spirit of Humility
In The Name Of Jesus Christ We Pray . . .

  • Empower us to overcome judgmental attitudes and show true humility.
  • Forgive us when we tend to condemn others; fill us with Godly compassion.
  • Renew a right spirit within us, helping us to show consideration to all people.
  • Teach us tolerance for others as we endeavor to keep the unity of the Spirit
  • Keep our motives pure as we endeavor to completely surrender all to You.
  • We desire to be gracious and full of compassion, even as You are.
  • Your Holy Word tells us not to judge and clearly reveals the consequences.

Week 2 - Servant's Heart
In The Name Of Jesus Christ We Pray . . .

  • Bestow on us the spirit of a servant's heart.
  • Convict us when we neglect the afflicted and needy.
  • Teach us to show compassion towards all people.
  • With Your anointing, we will be women of integrity and reflect Your glory.
  • Above all, help us to be honest and reliable in everything we do.
  • Grant us hearts of love that are plenteous in mercy and truth.
  • Forgive us when we tend to look down on deprived and needy people.

  • May we ever be vessels of mercy that can be used for Your Kingdom.
  • Open our hearts to the depths of Your mercy.

Week 4 - Divinely Empowered
In The Name Of Jesus Christ We Pray . . .

  • Anoint us to fulfill Your Word and "bind up the brokenhearted."
  • By Your Spirit and power, we will take authority over evil.
  • Your Word assures us that our labor for Your kingdom is never in vain.
  • Grant us a willing spirit to use our talents and gifts for You.
  • When the "enemy comes in like a flood", keep us in the hollow of Your Hand.
  • Preserve our hearts and minds for a lifetime of service.
  • Help us each one to find our personal ministry, using our talents for You.
 praisePraise Report
It has been a year since we started DOZ and we are celebrating by holding a DOZ conference on October 4th. We have invited several area Arizona UPC churches to help promote DOZ in their home church. We have also invited our daughter works in Nogales and Hermisio, Mexico and the pastors wives there are very excited. We believe women getting together in prayer is one of the most powerful forces on earth. If these area churches catch the vision that you have for prayer, all southern Arizona will have DOZ meetings and make a difference in our children's lives and others. We have scheduled Sis. Sharon Ikerd from Prescott (former missionary to Africa) to speak at the meeting. We will be presenting DOZ and how to get started and some of the ideas that we have used during our meetings for prayer. Please keep us in prayer as we hold this conference. Thank you for all you do and your burden for this generation and beyond. Also, DOZ newsletters are so inspirational. I get a lot of wonderful ideas from it and the ladies love the testimonies!    -Michelle Cardwell DOZ coordinator, Faith Tabernacle, Tucson AZ

I JUST WANT to share our report on our 1st DOZ meeting. We had ten ladies that attended our first DOZ meeting, praise God! For us, that is a big number since we started a new church with three people a year ago and now averaging twenty-five. Out of the ten at our DOZ meeting, five are members and the other five were visitors. The power of God was so strong in our midst and the Lord touch all of those precious Ladies and they all are coming back to our regular services! One of the Ladies received the Holy Ghost the Wednesday after our first DOZ meeting! We are so thankful and excited for what the Lord is doing! Thank you for all the great ideas posted on the website!     -Madeline Philbrook, DOZ Coordinator, Gospel Gateway, MA

 Prayer Ideas

WHEN OUR KIDS went back to school, we printed and laminated their names on 2 1/2 x 3 inch cards. We then gave each adult two names to cover in prayer for the school year.  Some adults have communicated with the children whose names they have, asking them if they have any prayer requests and giving them little gifts (school supplies and even candy bars!) to let them know they are there for them throughout the school year. -Debbie Sanders, Hawaii

I WILLL SHARE a prayer reminder that I call, God's Seven-Eleven taken from Matthew 7:7-11.  Anytime I see the combination of these numbers it is a reminder of the verse to ask, seek and knock. Today, for instance is 7-11-08. This combination, 7-11, may appear on the microwave, other clocks, a bill, change returned, license tag or wherever.  -Betty Parkey, DOZ Leader, Cornerstone Tabernacle, MO

ONE IDEA THAT I wanted to contribute is a prayer box. At our last meeting I brought a small decorative box. Each lady put a piece of paper with any prayer requests she had in the box. We prayed over the box that God would do the work. We placed it in the sanctuary. Any time a lady or any member is praying and feels led, she can open the box and read and pray for each need. Or just pray for every need in general, whatever she feels led to do. As these prayers are answered the ladies are encouraged to go back to that paper and write that God answered that need. We did this at a church I used to attend and it was exciting and uplifting to see the prayers that God answered! God is moving in our meetings and I thank Him for this ministry!  -Kristi Hutson, Independence, LA
