New Perspectives and Opportunities
The Conference is primarily intended for development companies in the fractional interest industry. This includes developers currently active in the industry, as well as those who are thinking about entering the industry -- perhaps by converting unsold whole-ownership condominium projects to fractional interests, or starting new purpose-built projects. In addition, many attorneys, marketing and sales companies, management companies, etc., benefit from the exposure the Conference provides. Finally, the Conference is critical to entities who might be interested in providing loans or other investment funds. This year's Conference will feature over 50 speakers. Almost half of the speakers will be first-timers, thus providing new perspectives and insights. Speakers will represent development companies, marketing and sales companies, management companies, legal firms, trade associations, and more.
Conference Highlights Some highlights of the Conference include: * Fractionals 101. This very popular six-hour session is intended for new entrants to the industry. The day-long workshop covers all aspects of the development process, ranging from feasibility analysis, consumer research, legal, design, and finance, to marketing, sales, management, exchange, and monitoring. It is organized around a workshop case-study approach, thus inviting maximum interaction and Q&A with the audience. * Trends and consumer behavior in the resort real estate industry. Six speakers at the conference are market research/trend analysts. They will discuss recent and future trends in the national economy, discretionary expenditure patterns, etc., and how such trends pertain to the fractional interest industry. * Social media marketing techniques in the fractional interest industry. Leading experts in this intriguing approach to marketing will discuss and advise on how it can be useful for marketing and selling fractional interests. * State-of-the-industry presentation by Dr. Richard Ragatz. Content is based on results of a survey of the industry's performance throughout North America, including the U.S., Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean in 2010. This survey, annually conducted by Ragatz Associates, is generally acknowledged as the basic source of information regarding the status of the fractional interest industry. Following the day-long Fractionals 101 session on Monday, March 14, the Conference formally kicks off with a cocktail reception that evening in the scenic Crown Room. The Conference continues all day Tuesday, and concludes early afternoon on Wednesday, March 16.
