Alhamdulillah, praise be to Allah, the last Hungerteam event of October was a great success, as usual.
First, volunteers set up tables outside and had them decked out with donated clothes, blankets, socks, toys, and other such items.
Then, a group of volunteers headed to the kitchen to see to getting a hot breakfast ready for anywhere from 50 to 75 people, preparing scrambled eggs, bagels, pancakes, and pastries.
UMF Hungerteam events take place every third Saturday of the month at about 9:30am at the Sanford shelter, God-willing, and accepts everything from clothes to household items to help those in need. We hope to see you at the next one!
-Zainab Alidina, Hungerteam Director
