October has been a quite productive month for the Hungerteam, especially the last event.
After the front yard of the homeless shelter was cleaned and the weeds cleared, thanks to one rotary club member from Seminole High, the morning went as usual. Once the pancakes were cooked, the children and mothers inside were served first and then the rest of the food was taken outside to the public.
The team also had an 8 foot-long table just for donations: clothes, shoes, purses, towels, and the like, as well as toys that the children couldn't wait to play with. It was a beautiful sight to see these children, bellies full, jumping for joy. and then taking the food outside to the public who ever wants. Alhamdulillah, praise to Allah, it was a huge success.
The next Hungerteam event will inshaAllah take place on Saturday, October 22nd at 9:30am at the Sanford shelter. We hope to see you there!
-Zainab Alidina, Hungerteam Director
