In March we had a great homeless shelter feeding and the most donations ever! That day, we filled about six long tables with all types of donations including toys, mens and ladies clothing, shoes and handbags. As one group of volunteers set up the tables to put out the donations, the other group of volunteers hit the kitchen to cook a fresh, hot breakfast including eggs, hot pancakes donated by IHOP, and fresh bread and bagels donated as always by Paneras Bakery.
In the month of April, UMF Hungerteam was honored to work with the Seminole High School Interact club, which came with two teachers from the high school to volunteer at the regular homeless shelter feeding. In addition to the usual hot breakfast, hand-made Easter eggs with chocolate inside and goodies were also given out.
The next Hungerteam event will inshaAllah take place on Saturday, May 21st at 9:30am at the Sanford shelter. We hope to see you there!
-Zainab Alidina, Hungerteam Director

Weekend School Interfaith Event
UMF interfaith representative Fatema Kermalli joined Miguel Rodriguez and Marty Stein for a two-part presentation on the similarities and differences between the three major monotheistic religions at the IEC, Sanford's weekend Islamic school
The presentations covered the Holy Books and their origins/revelation, the story of Adam and the origin of creation, and the story and view of Prophet Abraham.
Students were also able to ask questions of the speakers, and made the most of this time by following up with intelligent inquiries. UMF would like to thank IEC Orlando for the opportunity to take part in this rewarding interfaith event.
