I would like to thank all those who have come forward to help the refugee family who will be arriving from Gaza soon. It is such a pleasure to work in a position where I am fortunate enough to encounter people who are ready to open up their hearts and homes to strangers in need.

United Muslim Foundation has been confirmed by the State Department to undertake the care of a mother and her two children, who are expected to arrive in Orlando as early as next week.  The mother will be arriving under Humanitarian Parole with her two children - son aged 14 and daughter 12 who are US citizens. The mother speaks English, but her children do not know it well.

The family will need a lot of help in order to get established within the United States.

The family is initially confirmed to stay with a host family in Winter Garden. We are looking to eventually settle them in an apartment. We will be looking for donors to help the family pay their rent until the mother finds a job.
 

We will also need all the volunteer support we can get to help this family make a smooth transition from Gaza to the USA. If you are interested in helping out by visiting the family to check up on them or making dinners please contact zainab@unitedmuslimfoundation.org
