Peace be with you

"Verily you have in the Prophet of Allah an excellent model, for him who fears Allah and the Last Day and who remembers Allah much." The Holy Koran; Chapter 33:22

At the United Muslim Foundation, we're always busy trying our best to promote the most excellent character of our Beloved Prophet by persevering to follow in his footsteps.

This month, in addition to donating many more Korans for Da'wah and organizing collections for the needy and Katrina victims, we've been networking with Muslims from all corners of Orlando and the Tri-State area in an effort to unite to help the needy and clarify misconceptions about Islam. You can read about what we've been up to and what we have planned for this month in this newsletter and online at our website unitedmuslimfoundation.org

On this special month in which the Holy Prophet was born, we pray that Allah (SWT) bless all of us with peace, brotherhood and the strength to reach out to all those in need with love and compassion. Ameen.

Come and join us, as United Muslim Foundation celebrates the life of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) with a very exciting, first time, united tri-state Muslim "Fair for Care" carnival to raise money for the victims of the recent Pakistan Earthquake and raise awareness about the life and character of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).

This event is open to the public and will take place on Saturday April 22, 2006, from 3–7pm, at Lone Lane Park in Allentown, PA (only a 10 minute drive from the Al-Ahad Islamic Center)

Carnival Highlights:
  • Moon bounce
  • Clown
  • 22' High Slides
  • Games
  • Food
  • Clothing
  • Art
  • And Much Much More!

There will be no entry fee; however tickets may be purchased to participate in certain games and activities. So bring your family, friends and neighbors and get ready to have some fun! We will also be collecting non- perishable canned food and new hygiene products for the Salvation Army so please donate generously!

* In case of Heavy Rain, this event will be postponed to take place on Sunday April 23rd *

UMF volunteers worked with Hands on Orlando to bring happy smiles and gifts for homeless children at a local Orlando Shelter on April 8th. We decorated the hall, played games, had cake and stayed to clean up after a fun filled morning that warmed the hearts of volunteers, the children and their families alike.

At this event, UMF had the pleasure of having new volunteers join in from the Aga Khan Shia Imami Islmaili Council of Florida. We look forward to working with them again as well as more Muslim organizations and individuals in the future on events such as this, making even more of a positive impression of Islam in action in America.

  • Date: Saturday, June 3rd 2006
  • Time: 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM
  • Venue: Rose Hall at Lincoln Center. Broadway at 60th Street. (North of Columbus Circle) New York, NY.

UMF Volunteers enjoyed a wonderful picnic and made new friends and special bonds with our gracious hosts at the American Peace Foundation on March 18th.

At the United Muslim Foundation we are always looking for ways to improve and network so that together we can make a bigger difference promoting unity, education and charity.

Become part of a team that's making a difference today!

We look forward to having you on board.

Sincerely,

Masuma Virji
