Salaamun Alaikum
The holiday season is here! It's a beautiful time
of Thanksgiving with family and friends
surrounding us. We
have so much to be thankful for here at UMF,
particularly our dear donors and volunteers who
help make all that we have achieved possible.
Many times I have been asked how we keep
going strong and accomplishing all that we do at
UMF. My answer is very simple. Each UMF
member feels so blessed by God that we believe
it is our responsibility rather than a luxury to
give our time and money toward those in need.
All that we do here at UMF is solely for the
pleasure of Allah (SWT) and with this faith we
gain strength to make progress toward promoting
Unity, Education and Charity.
I'd like to wish you all a Wonderful Holiday
Season and a Blessed New Year. Please take a
little time to help those less fortunate by
donating your time or money to one of the
worthy causes below. May God bless you all.
Masuma Virji, President.

UMF Koran Project
Delivering the message of God
Early this year, UMF published an
English only interpretation of the Holy Koran by
Mir Ahmed Ali. Alhamdulil-Lah we have made
great progress to date delivering the word of
God as far and as fast as we can so people read
the message of God for themselves and thereby
clear any misconceptions they have about Islam
and Muslims.
The beauty of this project is that we have been
able to network with, and supply so many
organizations with copies of the Koran. We
began this project aiming to get a copy of the
Koran in hotel rooms across the country, which
is well underway thanks to the help of our
wonderful volunteers. But we have gone far
beyond that, selling copies on amazon.com and even
delivering copies to the United States Naval
Academy.
UMF has supplied Korans to Bilal Muslim Mission
of Americas working through Chaplain Ashiq
Kermalli toward a project that aims to get a
Koran in every hospital room in Orlando. We
have networked with the Center for Peace to get
Korans out to inmates who have sent requests
for large print Korans.
UMF supplies the Academy for Learning Islam in
Canada with Korans for Da'wah efforts which
include getting Korans out to all the Libraries
there as well as many other national and
international inquiries that are fulfilled in a
timely manner by our trusted staff.
We are embarking on a new
venture with Tahrike Tarsile Quran to supply
libraries and Muslim Student's Associations
across America with a copy of our
publication. We will insha-Allah be printing
our second edition of 'The Holy
Koran Interpreted' by Mir Ahmed Ali very soon...
so watch out for it in the near future!

Be a 'Secret Angel'
Help a family in need this Holiday Season
UMF is reaching out to a family of seven in need
this Holiday, and we're calling out to all
the 'angels' we can find to help! The young
mother who is suffering from cancer lives with
her husband and three children: a girl age 11, a
boy age 7 and a baby boy age 2. The aged
grandparents also live with the family.
This family is in need of warm clothes, shoes
and food (maybe we could even cheer up the
children with some toys :). We will be collecting
new or gently used clothes and canned or factory
sealed foods, and new toys to deliver to
the family in time for Christmas.
Please drop off your donations by December 17th
at 3231 Regal Crest Drive, Longwood, FL. 32779
or contact our UMF office at (407) 804-1504 for
more information.
P.S. We are also still collecting clothes for a 3
year old boy and a 1 year old baby girl in need.
Please donate generously!

UMF Holiday Elves
Serving up a Muslim Cheer
Just as we did last year, we're planning on gift
wrapping again for the holidays toward causes
that will help those in need while we get a
chance to join in the excitement of people
preparing for the holidays.
UMF Orlando has decided to help the Kids House
of Seminole fundraiser giftwrap at the Altamonte
Springs Mall this year. This is a real fun event
that runs all through December where you can
sign up with a group of friends or come in as a
family to wrap gifts and collect the proceeds
toward this worthy cause. Kids House provides a
child friendly facility for information gathering
and treatment for victims of abuse.
Please contact us at (407) 804 -1504 or e-mail
us at info@unitedmuslimfoundation.org if you
are interested in participating and we will try to
find a time slot that fits in with your schedule.
UMF Allentown will be teaming with the
Salvation Army again to assist in this wonderful
cause, to ensure that all underprivileged
children and their families will still be able to
look forward to receiving toys and meals for the
holidays! The "Toy Wrapping" and “Food Packing”
are on separate dates and times through the
first half of December, the last date being Dec
17th. All of the Food and Toy packing will be
done at 1101.W. Hamilton St, 4th Floor.
Please contact Shelina Kermalli at (610) 266 -
0725 or e-mail
shelina@unitedmuslimfoundation.org ASAP to
sign up to be one of UMF's Holiday Elves this
season :)
