  • UMF Volunteers Soup up Delicacies for the needy

“And keep up prayer and pay the poor-rate and whatever good you send before for yourselves, you shall find it with Allah; surely Allah sees what you do.” (Surah Baqarah, 2:110).

Alhumdulillah, UMF's soup kitchen event in Allentown on Sunday July 10th was a great success and the food was cooked and prepared in a timely manner (and received rave reviews by those attending the soup kitchen!). Thank you very much for spending your time and resources for this event.

We also recieved many monetary donations toward this event and others like it. May Allah reward all of you for your efforts and generosity. Ameen.

    Presentations on Islam

UMF members Aunali Khaku and Sajeda Bhalloo made an excellent presentation about Islam at 10:30 am at the Unitarian Universalist Church on Center St. in Bethlehem on July 10th. Jazak-Allah Br. Aunali and Sr. Sajeda for your continued efforts to clarify misunderstanings and educate people about Islam.

    Aiding Refugee Families

Sister Tanveer Walli of Allentown has been working to assist an Uzbekistani Muslim family of four (mother, father, and two girls) who came to the U.S. needing some help as refugees. Many items were collected and continue to be needed such as clothes, food (non-perishable), and furniture (whole beds, sofas, etc.). Over $500 were raised in financial donations, alhamdulil-Lah.

There are 6 more Muslim Uzbekistani families coming to Allentown later this year, and with help from our dedicated volunteers and trusted donors this could be an ongoing project for UMF, insha-Allah.

    Basketball fun... and more!

UMF supports Muslim Unity through Sports and was pleased to be able to set up 3 basketball hoops at the SIJPA center in PA. We look forward to seeing an awsome basketball team ready to compete in upcoming sports festivals!

Ever since 9/11, Muslims have been in the spotlight. What do they really believe? Are the terrorists’ actions really endorsed by their Holy Book, the Koran?

Newsweek’s article on the desecration of the Holy Koran only deepened the questions now buried into the minds of so many Americans.

Now’s your chance to offer the truth to your friends and co-workers. With this English translation by Mir Ahmed Ali, they’ll be able to open the Koran and see for themselves what messages it contains.

This translated version of the original, unaltered Koran contains easy to read English, perfect for the non-Arabic speaker. Because this publication is in English, it is perfect for both non- Muslims and Muslims who don't understand Arabic. With so many questions and curiosity about Islam today, everybody should consider owning a copy.
