Aducci pillows

January 2009

Greetings!
Aducci pillows
Happy New Year! Okay, I am a tad late, but the wish is heartfelt nonetheless.

I had the thrill of my professional life this month when The Boston Sunday Globe published a story - "Strategic Splurges" - about a living room project I'd done for a lovely family in Boston's South End. The story appeared in the Sunday Magazine supplement and you can read all about it below.

I've been sharing with you my kitchen remodel and it's almost complete. Just a few finishing touches to go and it will be ready for final photography. It really helped make the holidays to have a new kitchen to cook and entertain in. Having my home filled with the smells of delicious food and the laughter of friends and family was the true gift of the season and I hope your holidays were equally as fun and family filled.

Stay warm and as always, happy decorating!

Linda

I was so thrilled that the story of my Boston South End Living Room design project was showcased in the January 17th edition of the Boston Sunday Globe Magazine.  The story by Jaci Conry, called Strategic Splurges , was about how I mixed high end furnishings from an antique French chandelier and sconces and a custom designed Baker sofa with more reasonably priced retail finds from Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams, Restoration Hardware and Homegoods.

This cute little three-room Cape Cod style house, located on Cape Cod, was built in 1965. For nearly twenty years, current owner, Rob O'Connell, has alternately rented it out, lived in it himself full time, or used it as a weekend/vacation retreat. Over time, he's done a lot to upgrade both the house itself and the large yard.

The Palazzina Grassi

Iconic French designer Philippe Starck's new Italian hotel project - The Palazzina Grassi - has opened and we've gotten a sneak peak into this palace of sparkling mirrors and glass.  Located along the Grand Canal the building's shell dates to the 16th century, in which generations of noble and "haute-bourgeois" families lived. Mr. Starck has incorporated loads of murano glass chandis, Ventian mirrors and a few touches of Italian design icon Piero Fornasetti.  This hotel is seriously romantic and sexy.
