Greetings!
Well, well, well - we're a bit waterlogged here in New England, but that doesn't mean there's not lots to do both at home and in the area!
I've been giving my camera quite a workout and share with you below several photo tours of various New England locals, homes and beaches - from Cape Cod to the Berkshires. My latest venture, The Skirted Roundtable, is going strong. These recorded conversations - think of them as "The View" for interior design - are gaining a wide listening audience. I hope you have a few moments to listen along! Great for when you're paying the bills or ironing!
Are you looking for something to do? I've got links below for three great local events happening - right now!
Do you follow trends in decor? It's all about burlap and grainsacks these days. Get my take on this hot new trend. And finally, I have two articles on Kitchen and Bath design - Aging in Place and tips on Turning Your Bath into a Spa Retreat.
As always, if there is anything I can be doing for you, please don't hesitate to ask. Whether it's in-person or budget conscious virtual decorating services - I can help you create a beautiful, comfortable and affordable home.
Happy Decorating! Linda
PS: If you or someone you knows would like to reach out to over 20,000

the media - let me know. I offer sponsorship placement on my blogs and
newsletter. If you run an online business or service - it could be

The Skirted Roundtable

I'm thrilled to share with you my new online radio program called The Skirted Roundtable! I am producing this weekly radio show via podcast along with two other nationally recognized interior design bloggers - Houston based Joni Webb of Cote de Texas and LA's Megan Arquette of Beach Bungalow 8. I conceived of this idea as a way to expand and enrich the conversations that are taking place online and around the coffee tables at many levels of the interior design world. Recent interviews have included Karen Carroll, Editor-in-Chief of Southern Accents Magazine and Eddie Ross & Jaithan Kochar of EddieRoss.com - the up and coming male Martha Stewart. We've also chatted about Kitchen Design amongst ourselves and with Certified Kitchen Designer Susan Serra.

Kitchen and Bath Advice

Smart Design to Accommodate Aging in Place
Two more increasingly popular topics in the design world are "Aging in
Place" and "Universal Design." It's all about accessibility and
functionality for everyone in the home. Here are a few things to think
about for you and your extended family.
When my parents moved into their "retirement" home in their mid-60s,
they chose a house that has a first floor master bedroom and easy entry
from the driveway and garage. They knew that while they were both still
healthy and spry at that time, they might not always be so and they
wanted to be prepared. Good thing.

Turning Your Bath into a Spa Retreat
There's no question that these are stressful times
for many people, but non-stop worry isn't good for your health or your
mood! Since several of you have asked, here are some thoughts for
making your bathroom a place where you can relax and rejuvenate.
When we think of getting away to relax, we often
think about going to a spa. I spent a few days at Canyon Ranch in the
Berkshires several years ago and it was fantastic! Of course, most of
us can't afford that kind of luxury retreat on a regular basis (as I
said, it's been several years!), but we can create our own private
retreat in our own homes. From high-end luxury bathroom renovations
with jetted tubs, marbled floors, and crystal chandeliers to modest
enhancements such as fragrant soaps, fluffy towels, and a massaging
showerhead, we can all create our own private oasis of calm and
serenity. . Read on here.

Trend Watch: Burlap and Grain Sack - Cheap Chic or Faux Humility?
I've been contemplating the whole grainsack and burlap fad recently -
this new/old trend is everywhere. And, for the most part, is certainly
a very attractive trend. But, I wonder... why is this suddenly trendy?
Why burlap and why now?
