  • IBM's Mike Moran Discusses Web 2.0 at Annual Conference
  • Over 100 WTC members and guests had a chance to hear from Mike Moran, IBM Distinguished Engineer and Chief Architect of the ibm.com website, about innovative new ways to utilize the web. Mike was the keynote speaker at our annual "Reaching Your Global Customers" conference, which was held in Lancaster last month. His keynote address was called "Global Web Marketing 2.0" - click on the link to his archived blog entry for June 13 and you can download the slides. Participants also had a chance to network with foreign embassy officials and trade exhibitors and took advantage of different breakout sessions throughout the day.   • WTC Member Turkey Hill Receives International Taste Award
  • The International Taste and Quality Institute, Brussels, has awarded Turkey Hill products their 'Superior Taste Award 2007'. The International Taste & Quality Institute is the leading independent Chef and Sommelier based organization dedicated to judging, honoring and promoting superior tasting food and drink from around the world. Juries are composed of renowned European accredited chefs, beverage experts and sommeliers, members of the 10 most prestigious European culinary organizations and the Association de la Sommellerie Internationale (ASI). Congratulations to Turkey Hill for receiving this prestigious award!

  • Market Access Grants Available
  • PA firms can qualify for up to $5,000 in matching funds by taking advantage of the State's Market Access Grant program. Some examples of eligible expenses include trade show exhibition fees, airfare and lodging, fees for website internationalization and much more.
    Pennsylvania-based firms must have an exportable product or service, have annual revenues under $30 million, and must present an export promotion initiative that focuses on a new market.

  • Mark Your Calendars: Upcoming WTC Events
  • August 17 - Baltimore Port Tour for WTC Members. Enjoy lunch and a guided tour of the port aboard the Mary-Lynn. Optional terminal tours are offered in the morning and afternoon.
    September 5 - "Bringing the World to YOU!" Join us as we host all of Pennsylvania's Overseas Trade Representatives at the Holiday Inn in Grantville. A luncheon and reception will be offered together with the opportunity to schedule individual appointments with the representatives.
    October 3 - ITAR Seminar with Margaret M. Gatti, Esq., as the presenter. The all day program will be held at the Eden Resort in Lancaster. More details coming soon.

  • New Staff at WTC
  • Please welcome Melissa Stiles, the new trade specialist at the World Trade Center of Central Pennsylvania. Melissa is a recent graduate of Lycoming College, where she majored in Business Administration with concentrations in Marketing and International Business Management and a minor in Spanish.

    Our summer intern is Nina Williams, who will be a sophmore at the University of Pittsburgh, where she majors in international relations.
