Can you believe it is August already!? Summer is certainly flying by.
You haven't quite finished your "summer book list," the kids are chomping at the bit to buy back-to-school supplies (or not), and you still have a long weekend vacation in the works.
We get it, there's a lot on your plate. So we'll make it easy for you, and can be sure to find all of your favorite summer produce items at market! We have summer apples, heirloom tomatoes, watermelons & cantaloupes, peaches & nectarines, and much, much more!

Summer Apples
|
 Our Fuji and GoldRush apples were in popular demand this spring. We were thrilled to have customers asking for GoldRush and glad that you have learned to love these incredible apples. So it was a sad day when we sold out of GoldRush. As it goes with "buying local," everything has a season; unfortunately, it was time for the GoldRush apple season to come to an end. Fall will be here before you know it, and your beloved GoldRush apples will grace our crates again!
The beauty of seasonality, though, is that as one crop goes out of season, another crop comes in. We've been saying it all season so far, and we'll repeat it now too. All of our crops have been coming in early and we are harvesting our Summer Apples. We'll be bringing Zestar!, Gingergold, a few Sansa, and there are many more to come! Check out all of our apple varieties. |

Crystal City Shoppers: Change in Market Location
|
 Effective Tuesday, August 14th, the Crystal City Farmers Market will CHANGE LOCATION due to construction. The new market location is next to the Metro station entrance on 18th Street, and will be located between Buildings 251 (where the Wachovia Bank is located) and 241 in the courtyard.
Market hours will remain the same (3pm - 7pm), and we will be in this location through the remainder of the market season (November 20th). All of the same great vendors will be at the 18th Street location, so please be sure to come to our new location starting August 14th.

Is your mouth watering yet? We have patiently been waiting for our flavorful heirloom tomatoes to fully ripen, and Tomato Season has officially arrived! We'll be bringing our classics,
like Beefmaster, Mortgage Lifter, Striped German, Black Prince, and many, many more. We play around with new varieties every year, so you'll be sure to find a new favorite tomato this year! We'll also be bringing our mixed Cherry Tomato half pints (with the pop-in-your-mouth 'Sun Gold') but new this year are our "Salad Tomatoes" in pints. These are the perfect sized tomatoes to slice and atop your summer salads (or whatever you choose to do with them!).
