Greetings!
We have almost reached the "peak of the summer."  You will find Yellow & White Peaches, along with 3 varieties of Plums, Yellow & White Nectarines, and Donut Peaches at the Farmers Markets.  All of them are tree ripened and perfectly juicy!  Read more about our peaches

We will be featuring a Blueberry & Blackberry "Mix & Match" Special at market.  There are a ton of Blackberries ripening on the vine, so be sure to find your favorite  Blackberry recipes because we will soon have Blackberries coming out of our ears!!  We'll see you at market!

Have you tried our Baby Artichokes?
The past few years we have grown Baby Artichokes, but their production hadn't been very impressive.  We played around with their plant spacing, and this year, we got it!!  Our Baby Artichoke plants look amazing and are producing loads of artichokes.

They are just like the artichokes that you would find the grocery store, but they are smaller.  When you prepare Baby Artichokes, you are looking to use the just the heart of the Artichoke.

Here's the start to preparing Baby Artichokes.  Once prepared, you can grill, saute, pan-roast or even pickle/marinate the Baby Artichokes.  Give them a whirl.
Fresh Herbs...Complement Any Meal
Herbs are a perfect complement to any dish, and you are sure to get many compliments when you use fresh herbs because the flavor is so superior to dried herbs.

We grow a variety of herbs:
Basil | Thai Basil | an array of Mints | Thyme | Sage
Rosemary | Cilantro | Chervil | Chives
Catnip - just for you kitty! | Lavender | Dill | Oregano
Tarragon | Flat Leaf Italian Parsley

Here are some tips on how to properly store your herbs (quick hint... it is not recommended to keep them in the fridge!)  And check out our herb I.D. chart with flavor profiles and suggestions for use.  (We actually made this I.D. chart for our market employees, but thought many of our customers may enjoy it too!)

Meet the Allium Family!
The Allium Family, is not like the Jones or the Smiths.  The Allium Family is the onion, garlic, leek, scallion and shallot family!

Out of all of the veggies that we grow at Kuhn Orchards, we must say that our garlic, onions, and shallots are probably the most prevalent. Sure, you can get any onion or head of garlic at the grocery store. But what makes Kuhn Orchards' so great andonions curing wonderful? Let us tell you....as Rusty, our farm manager says, "They're just great! You can't find a better onion!"
