Southern Lakes District Notice

Hello Southern Lakes Volunteers,

Please join us at the next Southern Lakes Roundtable which will be held from 7:00 to 8:30 pm on Thursday, March 1, 2012 at the Elkhorn Area High School. Roundtable is a monthly gathering of Cub Scout, Boy Scout and Venturing leaders from Walworth and Jefferson Counties. It is the place to get activity and program information and share fellowship with others. Each unit should send at least one leader to this monthly activity.

  • Do you still need to finish your Unit's Recharter? We have web access and can assist you with completing the Recharter online. Please bring your Recharter packet with you - we need the code shown on the envelope to access your unit online. After Roundtable you will need to print the final forms and obtain the necessary signatures on your paperwork, but the majority of your work will be done Thursday evening.
  • If you have already worked on your Recharter, save yourself a trip to Janesville! Come to Roundtable with your completed and signed Recharter packet and a unit check. We will review your paperwork to make sure everything is complete and file it with the office for you.
  • We will be accepting nominations (forms attached) for two District Awards of Merit. These awards will be presented at our March 10th District Dinner. There are scouters working in our district that deserve this recognition - please nominate them! Roundtable is the last chance to make a nomination as the committee will meet that night to select the recipients.
  • We will be taking reservations for our District Dinner which will be held on March 10, 2012. The flyer for that event is attached. Please come out for a night of fellowship with your Scouting friends.
  • Get information about the District Pinewood Derby, Day Camp and Summer Camp, and other upcoming events.

We hope you or someone from your unit can join us Thursday night. Roundtables are growing each month and this is where you can get together with other unit leaders like yourself and gain a ton of information! Hope to see you there!

Please note that the April Roundtable will be April 12th. It is pushed back to the second Thursday of the month due to building unavailability (Spring Break in the Elkhorn School District).


Southern Lakes District Recognition Dinner

Saturday March 10, 2012

 

Join us for a fun filled night of Fun, awards, more Fun, recognition and more Fun. The night will be filled with the celebration and recognition of the many outstanding volunteers in our Scouting programs. Please join us at 6:00 p.m. for fellowship and appetizers, fine dining at 6:30 p.m. and program to follow dinner. Our program will honor Scouters who have done so much for the success of our Units and the Southern Lakes District. The District Award presentations will be made to nominees for the "Spark plugs", "Honor our Eagles" and the District Award of Merit will conclude the evening.
