Southern Lakes District Roundtable Notice

 

 

Hello Southern Lakes Volunteers,

We would like to invite you to the Southern Lakes Roundtable scheduled for February 2, 2012. There are many exciting things planned for this meeting and we hope you can attend!

  • We will be available to assist you with your Unit`s Recharter. The deadline for filing your recharter with the Council Office is February 15, 2012, so why not come to Roundtable and get it done? We are getting Web access so we will be able to help you complete your Recharter online. Please bring your Recharter packet with you - we need the code shown on the envelope to access your unit online. After Roundtable you will need to print the final forms and obtain the necessary signatures on your paperwork, but the majority of your work will be done Thursday evening.
  • If you have already worked on your Recharter, save yourself a trip to Janesville! Come to Roundtable with your completed and signed Recharter packet and a unit check. We will review your paperwork to make sure everything is complete and file it with the office for you.
  • We will be accepting nominations for two District Awards of Merit. The nomination forms are attached. We know there are scouters working in our district that deserve this recognition - please nominate them! Forms must be turned into Steve Orlovsky at the Janesville Office by close of business March 1, 2012 as the committee will meet that night.
  • We will be taking reservations for our District Dinner which will be held on March 10, 2012. The flyer for that event is attached.
  • Get information about the Klondike Derby, Day Camp and Summer Camp, and other upcoming events.
  • Sign up for the K&W Flower Sale - This would be a great fundraiser to offset camp fees.
  • Bring the date of your Blue & Gold or Court of Honor so that the District can schedule a representative to attend to do an FOS presentation.

We hope you or someone from your unit can join us Thursday night. Roundtables are growing each month and this is where you can get together with other unit leaders like yourself and gain a ton of information!

Southern Lakes District Recognition Dinner

Saturday March 10, 2012

 

Join us for a fun filled night of Fun, awards, more Fun, recognition and more Fun. The night will be filled with the celebration and recognition of the many outstanding volunteers in our Scouting programs. Please join us at 6:00 p.m. for fellowship and appetizers, fine dining at 6:30 p.m. and program to follow dinner. Our program will honor Scouters who have done so much for the success of our Units and the Southern Lakes District. The District Award presentations will be made to nominees for the "Spark plugs", "Honor our Eagles" and the District Award of Merit will conclude the evening.

Glacier's Edge Plant and Flower Sale

Information Sheet and Timeline

 

The Glacier's Edge Council is offering a fundraising opportunity for your unit that has proven to be a successful way for your Scouts to earn money to attend Summer Camp. We are again offering a Plant and Flower Sale because of the huge success that it had in 2011. All of the plants that we are offering are being grown just for us in the Glacier's Edge Council by K&W Greenery in Janesville. Everything that you order is 100% Guaranteed! We will also help set up delivery locations in different parts Council for your convenience. Any questions, please call Steve Orlovsky 608-314-3190 or Andrew Olsen at 608-314-3191.

                                           Important Dates

*Please email or fax your Commitment Form by January 30,2012 .

 

*Sale Dates: February 10th thru March 5th 2012.

 

*Order Deadline: Your Unit Master Order Form must be turned in or mailed to either Glacier's Edge Service Center by the close of business on Friday March 5, 2012. You can also email your order form to pepotts@bsamail.org.

 

*Pick-Up Date: The plants and flowers that you order will be available for pick-up on May 22, 2012. Depending on order size we will work with you on a delivery location. There will pick-up locations at K&W Greenery and the Madison Council Office.

10 inch Sun or Shade Baskets- $3.50 each

10 inch Sun and Shade mixed basket- $5.00 each

4 Pack Flats of 48 plants per flat- $4.00 each

4 inch Plants (quantities of 3 plants)-$3.50 each
