Cub Scout Roundups
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It is not too early to plan your Fall Roundup for Cub Scouts.  The council has marketing supplies to help you:  personalized fliers, personalized postcards (to send to all Cub Scout aged boys in your school district) and lawn signs.  The council has "roundup boxes" for you to help with the roundup logistics:  applications, name tags, pens, sample script,  table signs and much more.  Check with your district membership chair or your district executive for more information on fliers, postcards and roundup boxes.  (The council can get the school district lists and mail the postcards for you).   If you would like help at your roundup, contact your district membership chair.   Lawn signs and other roundup supplies will be at each Super Roundtable this August:  Thursday, Aug 11 at Covenant Presbyterian Church (Madison) and Wednesday, Aug 17 at Camp Indian Trails (Janesville).
BeAScout
is now live! BeAScout is a Google Maps application to help parents find Scout units for their children in any zip code.  This is a very powerful tool; but, it needs unit leaders to populate their "pin" with unit contact information. A step-by-step guide for unit leaders can be found on the council membership page (link:
Glacier's Edge Council 2012 National Youth Leadership Training
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT)

The 2011 National Youth Leadership Training course for Glacier's Edge Council was held June 12-18 at Camp Indian Trails in Janesville. Seventy-one participants completed the course including two co-ed Venture participants (the first two for this Council). Thirty volunteer youth and adult staff conducted the course. Phil Kress and Paul Banegas served as the course directors, ensuring a quality training course. A large thank you is due to all youth and adult staff that made the course a success. Appreciation is extended to the support staff of the council offices and Camp Director Rick Jahn as well as his camp staff for the excellent support to make this year's course a huge success.

Dates for National Youth Leadership Training for 2012 are now set

Save these dates for your unit's annual planning. Two courses are scheduled at Camp Indian Trails in 2012. The first course will be held June 11-16, with Verne Wright as course director. The second course is planned for June 25-30. Ben Bending will serve as the course director. Both will be nationally registered training courses and can accommodate a maximum of 48 participants each. Adult leaders interested in supporting either NYLT course can contact Glacier's Edge Council Training Chair, Luann Rece at orchidscout@gmail.com.
