TO SPACE AND BEYOND: 8th Grade trip
to Astrocamp
By Daniel Kerr & Brooke Shapiro 8th Grade

Astrocamp is a school field trip that the eighth graders take every year. This is because Astrocamp ties into our curriculum, by teaching us astronomy, chemistry, and physics. Eighth grade has been going to Astrocamp for almost 10 years.

AstrocampSome activities that we did

were ropes courses and labs,

but every night we did a special

activity, which were a scavenger hunt and space night. Space night is when the students at

Astrocamp go out into a separate part of the camp and they look through telescopes and they teach us about the constellations and galaxies.

ASB Sponsors "Boardwalk Dance"
 By Travis Mitchell 7th Grade

On May 11, 2012 students could attend the Boardwalk Dance. There were many activities that students could participate in, such as skee-ball, or high striker. But there was one thing at the dance that stood out from all the others. The In N' Out Burger truck. Some students only went to the dance because of the truck. 7th Grade Student Ryan Torigian said, "The In N' Out could have been better, but the dance was good overall."

Shark Week Teaches Students Tolerance
By Justin Fleckenstein and Giselle Perez 7th Grade
Sharks art

Shark week really surprised some people. Many students thought, why are we saving sharks, sharks attack us. Those students didn't know that people kill sharks by cutting off their fins while they're still alive. Then the people throw sharks back in the water and they will die because they have no fins. This is a terrible thing that people are doing to the sharks. We have to do something to help save the sharks.

Sushi and Wasabi is a casual neighborhood restaurant in Agoura Hills that serves Japanese food, but their specialty is sushi.

One of their best dishes, or considered one of the most popular ones, is the Spicy Salmon Baked Roll. This dish is a cut roll made out of sticky rice, avocado, salmon, spicy mayo, eel sauce (known as teriyaki), and soy paper that is put inside and oven and tastes sumptuous.

The Hunger Games Movie Review
By Drew Wilds 7th Grade

The Hunger Games has been a fan favorite here at MCMS. It is a trilogy that was turned into a movie. This movie was an epic tale of love, violence, and sacrifice. Some may say it was the violence and gore of the games, and others may say it was the love triangle between three unlikely characters. I think it was all of that and more.

An In-sight into Teacher Fashion
By Hadar Amran 8th Grade

Fashion is a work of art -- the way you make yourself "you," the way you make yourself stand out, and the best of all, the way that makes you have the chance to show what's your style.

At MCMS, some staff members' style is reflected in their clothing. Art teacher Malia Cadle has a really good sense of style. Not only does she dress really nice, but also she shows her personality in the way she dresses.

MLB Playoff Predictions
By Nick Paul 7th Grade

This far into the MLB season, things in the American League East have been pretty even, but the Orioles and Rays are holding the two top spots the best so far, and the Toronto Blue Jays are just behind. In the AL central, the Tigers and Indians are pretty even teams, and Cleveland is leading the overall battle. And Finally we come to the AL west, where the Texas Rangers are the true dominance in the West, with a total toss up for the second spot between Oakland A's, LA Angels, and the Seattle Mariners, three evenly matched teams.
