Reinstate the Medicaid Hospice Benefit

  2. Review the Talking Points

The Milliman Studies show that hospice services save the states $282 million annually, approximately $7,000 per hospice-eligible beneficiary, End-of-Life hospitalizations can cost approximately $3,000-4,000/day for most non-surgical/non-trauma ICU stays.  States have the additional costs of pharmaceutical treatments when hospice services are not covered.  Click here to view the study.

AHCCCS in September 2010 recognized that this benefit would save approximately $160,000 - they encouraged acute care contractors to work with hospices to reduce costs.

  3. Tell the Story - Email or Call Your Elected Official
Share a personal story about a patient and family that have been or will be impacted by this legislation.
