Parent Teacher Conference Scheduling
In an effort to better coordinate parent teacher conferences across our Junior High and High School, we ask that you complete this online conference scheduling form for each child in grades 7-12. We will then contact you to confirm your conference date and time. Conferences will be around 15 minutes in length, and we will do our best to ensure that as many of your child's teachers are in attendance as possible. Due to the complexities of scheduling, we will make appointments on a first come, first serve basis. It is to your advantage to fill this form out as soon as possible. The deadline for completing this form is Friday, October 19th.
Knights of Columbus Soccer Challenge
Knights of Columbus Soccer Challenge will be held at The Vanguard School soccer field on Saturday October 6th, from 9:00-10:00 A.M. for girls and boys, ages 10-14. This is a free event. This is a state wide individual competition for anyone interested. Kids will shoot on a soccer goal for maximum points and winners go to a state competition. Watch Vanguard Matchwits Compete on TV!
The Vanguard Matchwits team was invited to compete in Rocky Mountain PBS Matchwits this year. The competition that was taped last week will air on Sunday, October 7th, at 4 P.M. on PBS.
Weather Policy
Cheyenne Mountain Charter Academy and The Vanguard School will be bound by District 12 (D-12) decisions on whether to close, delay opening, or announce early dismissal because of inclement weather.
Click here for a list of places you can check to find out if school is delayed or closed. In all cases of bad weather, parents should exercise their own judgment about whether to transport their children to school. Tardy arrivals or absences on such occasions will be excused.
Coursers Homecoming Soccer Game
Come support your Coursers soccer team on
Friday, October 19th, at 4 P.M. as they play against the CSS Kodiaks. Pre-game activities begin at 3:30 P.M. and includes BBQ, music, and fun! All K-12 students, families, and friends are invited.

Cool Science Festival

Basketball Registration
Junior High boys and girls basketball registration will take place October 1-12. Please complete the online registration and send current physical and fees ($200 without volunteer hours; $100 with 5 volunteer hours) to Dina Fuqua. Practices start on October 22. Day of Excellence: February 15th
In recognition of our high school being the top-performing school in Colorado (for the 6th consecutive year) based on CSAP/TCAP scores, the CMCA School Board has approved a day off in celebration of this excellence. The Celebration of Excellence Day will take place on Friday, February 15, 2013, and all students (K-12) and staff will have that day off.
National Honor Society Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser
The Vanguard School's National Honor Society will be hosting a Pancake Breakfast at Applebee's on Galley,
Saturday, October 27th, from 7 A.M. -10 A.M. Funds raised will support charities selected by NHS members. Tickets are $7 and provide all-you-can-eat pancakes, sausage, and drinks. Tickets will be sold at each building's front office, and you can also purchase tickets at the door.

Forensics Assistant Coaching Position
This sport is particularly suited for those who love drama and oral presentation. This position will include two practices a week Monday and Wednesday afternoons 3:30-4:30 and four Saturday meets between December and March. Practices begin in October and go through the first week of March. There is very little prep work but a lot of pay off in this sport. Our first holiday bazaar will be held on

Parents now have the ability to pay for school lunches online by credit card at http://www.cmca12.com/parents/lunch_program. Please note that online credit card payments will incur a 1% convenience fee and will take one business day to be added into your child's lunch account.
