News this Week
Register Online TODAY for Parent Teacher Conferences In an effort to better coordinate our parent teacher conferences across our Junior High and High School, we ask that you fill out this form for each child in grades 7-12. We will then contact you to confirm your conference date and time. Conferences will be around 15 minutes in length, and we will do our best to ensure that as many of your child's teachers are in attendance as possible. Due to the complexities of scheduling, we will make appointments on a first come, first serve basis. It is to your advantage to fill this out as soon as possible. The deadline for completing this is Friday, October 14th.
Announcement of New Staff Memebers
Please welcome Katy Metzger and Kristen Cloyd to our staff. Ms. Metzger replaced Ms. Shaffer as one of our eighth grade English teachers beginning this past Monday. Ms. Cloyd will be replacing Mr. Lohse in eighth grade science and high school chemistry next week. We realize that this is a lot of change, particularly for some of our eighth grade students. Nevertheless, we will do all we can to support our students during this transition and are confident that Ms. Metzger and Ms. Cloyd will provide excellent instruction for our students.
Picture Retakes Picture retakes are scheduled for October 25th. Please pick up your order form and return unwanted photos with it to the front desk. Students are not permitted to wear t-shirts, tank tops, spaghetti straps, blue jeans, or any blue jean articles of clothing. Students in K-8 will be required to change into their school uniform after retakes.
Coat Drive Girl Scout Troops of CMCA will be collecting new or gently used coats of any size for "Coats for Colorado" between Vanguard Economics teacher Dr. Paul Prentice is speaking at the Free Minds Film Festival at UCCS Centennial 203 (October 7-21.) Click here for more information.
Basketball & Cheerleading Registration
Registration is due by October 21st. If you already played a fall sport, you only need to turn in a check to Athletic Director October 21st. If you have not previously played a sport this past fall, you need to submit the online registration, turn in a current physical and cautionary statement forms and pay your fees to Athletic Director by Oct. 21.
Lost and Found
There are over-flowing boxes of lost and found items in the southeast corner of the gym by the hallway. The items were found in the locker rooms and around the gym after 5th-9th grade PE classes and athletic events. There is everything from uniform pieces and athletic wear to tennis shoes and lunch boxes. Socks are thrown away if left behind. Please have your children check the boxes thoroughly for missing items on a regular basis. The items will be donated at the end of the quarter and before holiday breaks.
