9-11 Tenth Anniversary Commemoration will be held on
Sunday, 11 Sep, 0800-0900, in America the Beautiful Park in downtown Colorado Springs. The event is free and open to the public and sponsored by the City of Colorado Springs and El Paso County. Parking is free at meters on downtown streets. For more details, click here.
Smiles Change Lives is a national charity that provides affordable orthodontic care for low-income families. SCL currently has 900 immediate openings for children who meet the guidelines. Click here for eligibility guidelines and the application.
Land's End Coupons Stop by the K-4 front office and pick up a coupon for $15.00 off any Lands' End purchase of $75.00 or more! The coupons are valid September 1 through September 30, 2011 at the Lands' End Shop at Sears, at Landsend.com, or by phone. Quantities are limited so stop by soon. In addition, you can purchase Lands' End gift cards at the front office at 10% off the face value.
Vanguard Garage Sale The Vanguard School class officers are sponsoring a garage sale in the lower parking area on September 30 from 1:00 to 4:00. Please save your items to donate to the garage sale! (Please do not bring large items such as beds and couches.) All sales will support The Vanguard School! Drop off will be September 26-29 after school in the lower parking lot.

Annual Health Screening
Would you like to help out and meet CMCA & Vanguard students firsthand? Whether you can give an hour or a morning/afternoon: During the Oct 3rd-14th timeframe our students in K, 1st, 2nd , 3rd , 5th, 7th, 9th and all new students need hearing and vision testing. There will be a brief training session held prior for those parents new to the screening process. Please email margie.miller@cmca12.com or call at X141 and leave a message. I'd be delighted to have you help out with this state requirement!
