Health Information

In starting off the school year, please remember to touch base with the School Nurse for the following:

  1. Submitting your  shot record if needed for the school year.
  2. Informing the Health Office of any change in Health status of your child
  3. Submitting all paperwork and medications for administration during the school day.
  4. Any Health Care Plans for the school year.

Our nurse's office is in the K-4 building directly behind the front desk.  She will routinely send emails home if a health event occurred during the school day that may require a home follow up, or just to keep you informed. Often times it such an event doesn't require a call to parents in the middle of the day.

Staying Hydrated

With the hot weather still with us,  I am finding that the younger students are experiencing a lot of tummy and headache complaints that are most likely related to hydration. Please be sure to dress your child lightly for the weather, sending a water bottle daily. It's a good idea to fill the bottle halfway, freeze overnight and fill it in the morning when grabbing lunches for the day! Also, be mindful of the sodium (salt) level of the foods you send for lunch.

Annual Health Screening

Would you like to help out and meet CMCA & Vanguard students firsthand? Whether you can give an hour or a morning/afternoon: During the Oct 3rd-14th timeframe our students in K, 1st, 2nd , 3rd , 5th, 7th, 9th and all new students need hearing and vision testing. There will be a brief training session held prior for those parents new to the screening process. Please email margie.miller@cmca12.com or call at X141 and leave a message. I'd be delighted to have you help out with this state requirement!
