youthGet Youth Working! Program Extended

 

The program has been extended to March 31st, 2013, and the hiring incentive has been increased to $2,800 for up to 3 employees per employer.

 

This program, funded by the Canada-British Columbia Labour Market Agreement, offers employers a $2,800 hiring incentive to hire eligible youth 15 to 29 years of age. Additionally, employers may request up to $1,000 to purchase training for the newly hired youth.

 

The Program is open to BC employers and youth who meet specific eligibility criteria: see if you qualify by visiting their website.

aaaAAA ratings confirmed of BC

 

The three major credit rating agencies have affirmed their credit ratings for the Province of BC, including triple-A ratings - the highest possible - from Standard & Poor's and Moody's Investors Services, Finance Minister Kevin Falcon announced today.

 

The reports come in the wake of meetings held with the rating agencies and post-budget meetings with investors in New York, Montreal, Toronto and Chicago, April 10-13

Federal funding of over $238,000 to Small Business BC for their TradeStart Program will increase trade among BC's small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) by providing them with the tools necessary to access new export markets.
 
The funding will help support an enhanced trade readiness service that will increase the number of export-ready small and medium-sized enterprises through a series of new products, services, seminars and rural outreach.
