Ybor Chamber

Member Spotlight

A familiar face in Ybor City is entrepreneur Joe Vigliarolo, owner and operator of three Ybor establishments - Fresh Mouth, Centro Cantina and JJ's Café & Bar. Joe is a long-time Chamber member and always ready to participate in our events. He was the first to step-up as an Ybor vendor for Guavaween 2011. Thanks Joe for all your support!

For a really good burger, you can't beat Fresh Mouth, located in the heart of Centro Ybor. But burgers aren't their only fare. Their Blue Bell shakes are to die for and one of my favorite Ybor lunches is Fresh Mouth's Gobble, Gobble and a bottle of IBC Root Beer.

Centro Cantina is Ybor's only outdoor balcony bar. Located on the 2nd floor of Centro Ybor, overlooking 7th Avenue, Centro Cantina is the place to watch your favorite team on one of five TVs, listen to live music nightly, Thursday - Sunday, and get a late night snack.

JJ's Café & Bar, located on 7th Avenue directly across from Centro Cantina, is open for lunch and dinner and provides live entertainment nightly, Thursday - Sunday. Known for a variety of wraps and sandwiches, including one of their specialties, the pot roast wrap, JJ's is also the place for martinis, lots and lots of martinis!

Next time you're in Ybor, stop by one of Joe's establishments and say hi, then get yourself something good to eat and drink.

Chair's Message

Greetings:

What a whirlwind of activity! We haven't stopped to slow down at the Ybor City Chamber since August. Gala, OktoberFest and Guavaween - all major events in their own right, have been back-to-back-to-back. But, Guavaween is the "big one" and I would like to recognize our leaders, sponsors and public/private partners in this community joint-venture.

  • Arturo Fuente, Jr., Immediate Past Chair, who got it all moving in the right direction

I want to thank our merchants and residents who support this annual All Hallows' Eve Bacchanalia. The promotional value that Ybor City and the Tampa Bay Area receive as the home of "one of the top-ten Halloween events in North America" is invaluable. Also, let's not forget our visitors who come from far and wide to celebrate Guavaween - many of whom have been coming here year after year.

Until next month,

Andrea White
