Cool Endings and Warm Beginnings
It has been another busy week at the Ybor City Chamber. Last Tuesday, we held our Annual Installation Luncheon. We had over 140 members and guests attend this year's transition ceremony. We were very fortunate to have newly-elected Tampa Mayor, Bob Buckhorn install Andrea White our 76th Chair of the Board.
Immediate Past-Chair Arturo Fuente, Jr., and President Tom Keating presented the following awards:
ˇCommunity Service Award to Tampa Police Officer Paul Smalley for his work on "special events in the District"
ˇPresident's Award to Wes Miller for his work on "new events for the Chamber"
ˇChair's Award to Angela Rodante for her "leadership of the Guavaween Working Group"
Among the guests were nine Past-Presidents or Past-Chairs of the Chamber and Emeritus Board Member Rafael Martinez-Ybor, great-grandson of Ybor City's founder.

Past-Chair Arturo Fuente, Jr. reported that each division of the Chamber - Events, Membership and Marketing, had significant accomplishments and that the Chamber overall was on-budget for the year. New Chair Andrea White, Senior Manager of Public Affairs for Bright House Networks, told members that she wants the Chamber not only to continue to preserve and develop Ybor City, but also to think "out of the box" and be a "catalyst for cooperation" with the surrounding community.
This Monday we held our 6th Annual Ybor City Chamber Golf Tournament. We had 80 golfers signed-up and the weather was perfect- "chamber weather" as they say. The Radiant Group won the new "traveling trophy" as the first place team. The law firm of De La Grana, Boardman and Bessone came in second with WilsonMiller/Stantec Team II in third place. This was our best tournament yet!

We took a little bit of Ybor City on-the-road to the Temple Terrance Golf & Country Club with lunch provided by Carmine's and a festive dinner of black beans, rice and pork. Join us for a little bit of Ybor City anytime. We are the "heart and soul" of Tampa.
