"I Feel Empowered!"
HBP & Howard University Exchange Is a Windfall for HBP Teen Parents

By Dr. Martine Elie
Howard University Speech and Hearing Clinic Director; member, HBP Board of Directors

"Wow! Howard University Speech and Hearing Clinic is a wonderful place with many resources for parents and children. We feel empowered as parents," said one TPEP couple. "The staff shared with us lots of practical, creative, and interesting things that we can use with our daughter and we can't wait to try some of what we learned at home. Thanks, HBP, for exposing us to this amazing place!"

Two generations impacted for change
This enthusiastic reaction was the norm when the Howard University Speech and Hearing Clinic partnered with HBP's Teen Pregnancy Empowerment Program (TPEP) to promote learning and literacy skills for teen parents. (Read more ...)

You're invited to sponsor an HBP family during the upcoming holiday season as part of HBP's Adopt-A-Family program! By becoming an Adopt-A-Family sponsor, you'll provide a precious family with a joyous Christmas - one they otherwise would not have.

Last year, generous sponsors adopted 143 HBP families. The need is greater now than ever before. More than 200 families count on us for services and support. We would like to make sure each family and each child has a wonderful Christmas. But that's only possible when generous people like you come alongside and give.

The Washington Examiner Highlights HBP

HBP's holiday Adopt-A-Family program was the subject of a recent Washington Examiner " 3-Minute-Interview" with HBP Executive Director Regine Elie.  Ms Elie explained the program's powerful impact on HBP families: "They cry. They can't believe that somebody would do this for them." Read the interview here.

HBP Staff Interviewed Online With Andrea Garrison

Staff and beneficiaries of Healthy Babies Project went Online With Andrea on November 29 to talk about their work with pregnant and parenting District women and families. The feature was hosted by Andrea R. Garrison.

Hats Off to K. Neal International Trucks
HBP extends its warmest thanks to K. Neal International Trucks, Inc., for arranging and sponsoring HBP's interview with Andrea Garrison. We deeply appreciate your partnership!

Give to HBP and Save Lives

For 20 years, HBP has connected high-risk, underserved pregnant D.C. women and families to health babies in diaperscare, social services, and educational opportunities. Thousands of HBP babies have been born alive and healthy. But recent city budget cuts have slashed HBP funding. We need your help to continue saving and transforming D.C. lives. Give here.

You don't have to see them to help.

Gifts to Healthy Babies Project, Inc. are tax-deductible. Your support means a true chance for D.C. teenagers and women to have productive lives. Giving online is safe and secure. Thank you for caring and giving!
