Greetings! ,
The theme for this year's newsletter is 'Homeland Security'. Over the next year, we are prayerfully hoping to grow in our understanding and appreciation of the God of Israel. The God of the New Testament is the God of the Old Testament. We need to become intimately acquainted with the bigness and the awesomeness of the Lord Who is The Commander of the Hosts, Our Adonai - and so much more.
Why? Think of this verse: Hebrews 12:27 - whatever can be shaken will be shaken so that all that remains is that which cannot be shaken. What events shake you up as a believer? What people make you feel shaky, causing the stomach to churn? What concerns about the future do you have which cause fretfulness? God is about shaking us loose from the idols we cling to so vehemently, shaking us up to show where we have trusted the created more than the Creator and shaking us out of our comfort zones where we can easily become complacent and less than useful to our Lord and Master.
The good news in this great shake up - is that which will remain is that which cannot be shaken: A precious outcome!
So fear not fellow or perhaps future believer. This year is meant to quiet the knocking knees, calm the wringing hands, focus the darting eyes and still the beating heart.
We pray that you will sit and soak in the Truths that will be brought to you about your Great and Mighty God through the Psalms this year. Be ready to bow at His magnificence. Prepare to have your heart quieted before Him. Be willing to develop a holy and reverent fear of Yahweh. That fear, which is the beginning of wisdom, makes for a great beginning to a New Year!
