Welcome to the July edition of the BLC Newsletter.
This month's meeting our guest speaker is Tom Dietz. Tom has been fishing muskies for a long time. He is a guide, educator, writer and the current manager of the Brainerd Gander Mountain store. Tom has muskie fishing flowing in his blood and at the July meeting he will share a few tips and tactics to improve our success on the water. For more info about Tom you can check out his website. ____________________________________________________ Youth Event - BLC Youth Muskie Showdown
Our next youth event is the BLC High School Muskie Showdown Tournament held July 24th on Lake Alexander. Teams from Brainerd, Crosby, Pillager, Pequot Lakes and Aitkin High Schools will be competing to win and be sent to the Statewide Championship held August 16th on Lake Minnetonka in which they will compete with other Regional Tournament winners.

Congrats go out to Dusty Cartie for doubling up and winning the June Clash. Dusty boated a 45.5" and 39". Right on his heals was Jason Bassett with a 44"er. Way to go guys! Standings: 1. The Gil Hamm website is up and running. The site serves 2 purposes. First, it provides all the info that the attendees are looking for including the agenda, maps, Vermilion info, etc. Second, it will allow everyone not attending the chance to keep up to date with their Chapter and how they're doing. There will be daily updates during the Hamm including pictures and a leader-board. Replica Eligibility
1. Release Form must be turned in within 30 days of catch
2. A photo must be taken of the catch
3. BLC membership must to be in good standing at time of catch
4. Must attend at least 4 monthly meetings during 2010
5. Must attend at least 1 on the water outing in 2010
6. The longest by inches recorded will win
7. In case of a tie - the muskie recorded first wins
8. You are ineligible if you won the replica in the last 10 years
