2013 Mahalo Month 
 Mahalo Month - Offerors 2012


The Hawaii Tourism Authority (HTA) is gearing up for the 2013 Mahalo Month period from April 1, 2013 through May 31, 2013. Mahalo Month is a great opportunity to attract retail agents, tour operators and reservation center agents to our Hawaiian Islands to take advantage of special rates and offers from Hawaii's visitor industry. By experiencing Hawaii's people, place and culture first hand, they will become familiar with Hawaii's product offerings, and be better able to sell our destination to potential visitors.


Mahalo Month Needs Your Kokua for 2013


Your continued participation and support makes Mahalo Month successful each year. For 2013, we are once again seeking special offers from airline, hotel, activity, attraction, retail, restaurant and tour operators to stimulate travel to Hawaii during the spring shoulder season. To support your offerings, the Mahalo Month program will be promoted through HTA global marketing partners, including the Hawaii Visitors and Convention Bureau, Hawaii Tourism Japan, Hawaii Tourism Asia, Hawaii Tourism Oceania and Hawaii Tourism Europe. Information will be promoted via newsletters, training programs, and online and other social media efforts. You are also encouraged to promote your Mahalo Month offer through your advertising, marketing and promotional efforts as well.

The 2012 Mahalo Month featured more than 100 special offers that resulted in more than 1,635 in-market travel trade professionals registering to view the offers.    


Be Part of 2013 Mahalo Month


To participate, follow the steps below:

  1. Visit to input your organization's offer, and any required criteria or qualifications for the travel trade to be able to take advantage of the offer.
  2. HTA will review information that is inputted and send an email to confirm acceptance of your organization's offer for the 2013 Mahalo Month program.
  3. Please also set up the matching offer, criteria or qualifications, and references to the 2013 Mahalo Month program in your organization's system. This is to ensure that the offer can be noted and processed properly when participating travel trade members make inquiries or contact.
  4. All offers must be entered by Monday, Nov. 26, 2012 to be included in the 2013 Mahalo Month program.

Your Mahalo Month Offer


Once your offer is approved, it will be uploaded to the 2013 Mahalo Month site at The listing of 2013 offers is scheduled to be up the first week of December. 


Mahalo Month travel trade participants are required to present their 2013 Mahalo Month card, his or her business card, a valid picture I.D. and an individual company authorization letter to verify qualified participation in your organization's Mahalo Month offers.
