A Note from the Chairman
Hello Everyone,
It's hard to believe but it's already time to start the process of electing our leadership for 2012! The Jaycees are founded on the principal of continued growth and development of their members and as I wrap up my final year as a Board member, I wanted to reach out and encourage everyone to consider running for a position on the board. At first you're probably saying no way, don't have time, I don't know enough about the organization to do that, but keep in mind, at first neither did I. In fact, when I joined I never had the intention to be on the board, let alone serve as your President in 2010. It was through getting involved I learned of the benefits of membership, and also made some lifelong friends. Board positions range from Directors to VP's, the level of your involvement is up to you, but please take some time and consider running. Candidates night is tonight at the Diamond Jo. This is the first step in the process of elections, tonight anyone wanting to run for the position of President must announce their candidacy. In addition, anyone looking to have their name on the ballots for election night, also needs to announce their candidacy for the position they choose. Candidates night is pretty relaxed and much of the time is spent socializing with other members and listening to why people want to run for certain positions. The portion of our Bylaws which contain all of the elected and appointed positions can be downloaded here, it's a bit wordy but don't let it spook you it's mostly done that way for formalities.
Chris Puetz
