Relay For Life
My name is Alyson Tasker and I'm the Team Captain roll for the Dubuque Jaycees 2011 Relay for Life team. I'm proud to say it's the Dubuque Jaycee's 3rd year participating in Relay For Life, which will take place June 3-4, 2011.
Being on an American Cancer Society Relay For Life team is an amazing experience. Picture the scene: you're surrounded by your family and friends, urging each other on to make another lap around the track. The air is filled with the sound of laughter and sometimes tears, as our community celebrates those who have fought cancer, remembers the loved ones we've lost, and fights back against a disease that has taken too much from too many.
It would be an honor to have you on our team for this year's Relay For Life. The American Cancer Society is saving lives by helping people stay well, helping people get well, by finding cures, and by fighting back. Are you ready to join the fight?

US Jaycees 2011 National Convention
June 8-12, 2011 · Chicago, IL
If you would like to attend the Jaycee National convention, it will be taking place in Chicago this year. Cost for full attendance is $250 if you register by May 21st. There are day passes available, depending on what day you want to attend. Registration & hotel reservations will need to be made by you.
If you are attending, please send a copy of your registration to Liz Kirpes @ pfohlsmarketing@fbx.com to apply for funds. We have a limited amount of money set aside to help offset the costs of anyone wanting to attend. I must receive the fund request by April 21st. After that date, you will no longer be eligible. New Dubuque Jaycees Website Coming
I am pleased to announce that there is a new website coming soon for our chapter. It is currently being programmed and will emphasize the recruitment of new members and serve as an organized resource for existing members. The home page is all put together. Some of the links don't work yet as the site is under construction. The events on the sidebar are being pulled in from our Google calendar, and the twitter feed on the bottom is being pulled in from our Twitter page. Feel free to visit the site from time to time and see it come to life as new pages are added and materials are migrated over. I'm pretty pumped about presenting the finished product!
