Winter Iowa Games
Mystique Community Ice Center
January 28th 5-7:30
We will need to help with the Athlete Jamboree and Parade of Athletes. For the Athlete Jamboree the volunteers would help the kids stay in line for the inflatables and hand out/apply Iowa Games tattoos. For the Parade of Athletes volunteers would help line them up, hand out their athlete cards and then usher them to their seats during the Ceremony.
Each volunteer would receive a T-shirt for helping and be mentioned during the Opening Ceremony for volunteering.
If you are interested in volunteering or need more information please contact Amanda Bickal at amanda.bickal@gmail.com or 563-590-9676.

Volunteer Opportunity
January 17th is the 25th anniversary of the MLK Jr. Federal Holiday. The Corporation for National and Community Service and AmeriCorps will lead volunteers in a community service project. The day long project is in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King's legacy. The local residents will join hundreds of thousands of Americans across the country in making the holiday a day on, not a day off, by serving others.
Here in Dubuque, more volunteers are needed for this project. The service project locations are Albrecht Acres, Four Oaks School, The Multicultural Family Center, Jefferson Middle School, and Marshall Elementary School. Projects include painting a diversity mural, dorm and classroom painting, maintenance, and organizing. Volunteers are encouraged to pre-register by e-mailing DubuqueAmeriCorps@yahoo.com. Complimentary t-shirts and lunch will be provided for the volunteers. Feel free to contact Diana by Email or call her at 563-588-2700 (Office) or 208-232-5942 (Cell). |
