 Jaycee Golf Outing!!
We are having the annual Jaycee Golf Outing this August 27th at Bunker Hill. Tee Times will be between 12:00 and 2:00 p.m. This will be a 4-person best shot. We will play 18 holes. Following the golfing, we will have a fantastic prime rib meal catered by Poor Man's Catering. Dinner will be served about 6:00 p.m. in the clubhouse.
The cost of the golf with dinner is 50.00
Dinner Only -- 14.00
Golf Only -- 36.00
Tee times will be kept by Tammi Herbst by email at therbst@dhs.state.ia.us or by cell phone at 543-0466. Tee times will be on a first come first serve basis. Please provide me the number of people in your four-some that will eat dinner following golf.
Deadline to RSVP is Sunday, August 22nd.
We are also looking for companies to sponsor individual holes with prizes. If your company is interested in this, please contact Tammi Herbst, Theresa Reuter, or Carrie Wookey. This will include providing a prize for the hole.

Upcoming Chapter Events
Thursday, August 19th - General Membership 7:30pm, at the Diamond Jo Casino Friday, August 20th - Dubuque and All That Jazz...5pm - 9:30pm Set up begins right around 1:00 and the event officially kicks off at 5:00. We will be selling beer, soda, and water and could use all the help we can get, typically we need around 50 people in all. If you don't want to work at a beverage stand we also need ticket sellers and people to help with cleanup at the end. These events help fund everything else we do during the year including ID's, Community functions, and some of the great socials we have had this year. Stick around after Jazz for clean up and then free pizza for the group.
Thursday, August 26th - Boat and Water Safety Instruction by the US Coast Guard. 7:00pm at the Yardarm. Social will follow. The Yardarm is located at the Dubuque Marina, 1201 Shiras Ave Exd, Dubuque, Iowa 52001

2010 Terror At The Fair Setup Dates
The Dubuque Jaycees 2010 Terror at the Fair Project is getting ready for a fright filled event. We need your help as members to get this project started and completed so we can scare people in October.
The following dates are for the setup, assembly, training, painting, decorating, planning, etc. for this spooky fun event, and everyone's help will be appreciated.
*Additional dates/times will be added based on interest of people working on Sunday or Weekdays.

Upcoming Events/Deadlines from other Iowa Chapters
August 21, 2010 Come try your skills and have fun at The Region Black Jaycees Barathalon on Saturday August 21, 2010 at The Bullpen Sports Bar (1201 Grandview Ave., Muscatine, Ia). Start Time is 6 pm. Cost is $5 to enter.
The Barathalon is where you play 7 different games for points. At the end, the 3 players that have the highest totals will win trophies. The games include Pool (3-ball), Darts (Count Up), Wrap-A-Ball, Basketball, Football Toss, Horseshoes, Bean Bag Toss. If you have any questions contact Amanda Birch (563) 260-4010.
August 29, 2010 Iowa Jaycees Reunion - Noon to 6pm
Saylorville Lake at Jester Park (NW edge of Des Moines) at Shelter House #2. Just take Hwy 141 West from Des Moines Western suburbs and turn right at Jester park right before the town of Granger.
Bring your own food and beverages to the event. Table service will be provided by the Iowa Governors Association. |
