Thursday, June 24 - New Member Orientation - 7:00pm For those new the the Jaycees or for those just wanting to brush up on information, please join us at Flora Park for a New Member Orientation. We will be going over information on the new Passport to Leadership program, CPGs, JCI events and history. We will be grilling out. Please bring your own beverages. July 3rd Dubuque Jaycees/Radio Dubuque Fireworks
July 2nd - 4th - Chairpersons still needed - Garbage barrels Set up chair person is needed for July 3rd - Tear down chair person is needed for July 4th We are looking for people to help as chairpersons for the various areas involved in the planning of the parking for this year's fireworks. We are expecting large numbers of people this year, so we will need all the help we can get. - Friday July 2 - 6pm meet to help set up barricades/fencing etc. - Saturday July 3 - 8am (or earlier) help with setup, parking cars in lots, selling glow ropes, etc. - Sunday July 4 - 10am help with tear-down of barricades/fencing If you are interested and would like to know what is all included in being a chairperson contact me as I have very detailed information as to what is to be expected for each position. - Tammy ruajc@yahoo.com Saturday, July 24th - Chestnut Mountain Resort, Galena, IL 2:45pm. We will be going on a 1 ½ hour Mississippi Explorer Cruise which also includes an Alpine Slide/Scenic Chair Ride to and from the departure area. Cost of this event is $25.00 for adults $20.00 for children 7-11 and $15.00 for children 3-6. If you would rather just do the Alpine Slide Rides are $8.00 for adults $7.00 for Children under 12. Haunted House Help!
Haunted Project Idea/Suggestion Committee (Terror at the Fair)
As of now it looks like its a very strong possibility we are not able to do this event at the current fair location due to fire/safety reasons. We would like to form a group/committee to help brainstorm on new ideas for this project, look into possible new locations, and to see if we will have enough members/help to make this project work for the 2010 year. The Heartland Cricket League will put on a demonstration of how to play cricket. Then, we get to try our hand at playing it! Come join us for this FREE international event. July 24, 2010 The Region Black Summer Regional will be on Saturday July 24th. North Liberty will be hosting it. We have great training about Haunted House safety and how to get donations. More info to be annouced. Any questions please contact RD Troy Delano at troydelano@yahoo.com. The Ames Jaycees will once again be tubing down the Iowa River on July 24th and spending the night at a private campground on the banks of the Iowa River. Imagine sitting in your very own inflatable speed boat lazily floating down the calm dark waters of the Iowa River. This little adventure is only $25 per person to float and $10 per person to camp per night, payable at the location.
