Prayer for Families

O God, in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health, we belong to each other as we belong to you, God ever faithful.  By morning and by night may your name be on our lips, a blessing to all our days; so may kindness and patience be ever among us, a hunger for justice, and songs of thankfulness in all we do. We ask this through Christ our Lord.

Prayer for our Teens

The teenagers in our Confirmation program participate in an all day retreat during the winter to get ready for Confirmation. So pray for our teens that the Spirit might touch their hearts and strengthen their faith,

...and especially pray for the teens from our Peer Ministry Group who will be leading the retreats and sharing their faith with their peers!

All are Welcome!church

Our parish wide theme this year is "All are Welcome!" The theme comes from our Mission Statement: Blessed Sacrament is a Catholic community, rooted in the Eucharist, where All are Welcome as we Build the City of God. One of the ways we are working hard to ensure that All are Welcome is through better communication.  Our website, www.blessedsacrament.org has recently been given a facelift, and we are planning to send out weekly emails like this one to keep you up to date on what's going in the parish and the community. Let us know what you think!

From this week's bulletin:

History of the Catholic Church
What were the Crusades and the Spanish Inquisition?  Why did Martin Luther leave the Catholic Church?  What was Modernism?  Would you like to learn more about the history of our Catholic faith?  We will be offering a five part series on an overview of the history of the Catholic Church facilitated by Fr. Mike Boutin.  Sessions will be on Monday evenings, from 7 - 8 PM and repeated on Tuesday mornings, from 9:45 -11 AM in the Community Room beginning on February 22. All are welcome.  We will be using Fr. Al McBride's "The Story of the Church".  Cost of the book is $17.00 To reserve your copy of the book, and to sign up,
email Fr. Mike

MUSIC MINISTRY

Our parish needs your musical gifts! Each of our ensembles would benefit greatly from increased participation by parishioners of any age and experience. If you enjoy singing or playing an instrument, we can find the right setting for you to make music with us. Our parish ensembles include an Adult Choir, a Youth Choir, two Handbell Choirs, and a Contemporary Music Ensemble. For more information about how you can be involved in our parish music program, please email Erica

 DAY OF PRAYER
On March 20th, a group of us will be traveling to St. Joseph Retreat House in Milton for a full day retreat. This Lenten venture offers one the opportunity to slow down, relax, listen, and come to know a God that perhaps you didn't know before. The day starts at 10 AM and folks may arrive as early as 9:30 AM. There will be a 4 PM Mass to end our retreat.  The fee for the day away is $35.00 which includes a delicious lunch.  If you have never tried a day of prayer - this might be the perfect opportunity!  Why not consider one or both of these opportunities.  If they peak your interest, please let Fr. Tim know so the team can plan properly. Email him at: frtimk@blessedsacrament.org.

Bible Study

Bible study continues each Tuesday morning, in the Community Room, from 9:45 - 10:45 AM.  We look at the upcoming Sunday's Mass readings, so all are welcome to come when you can.  No previous Bible study experience needed, just a love for God's word, and a desire to learn and understand more. For more information, email Fr. Mike.

Thanks to all who helped with Christmas outreach

Thanks to the generosity of many parishioners, we were able to send Christmas gifts to the residents at Wrentham State School, Pine Street Inn, Walpole Prison through Bethany House in Millis, Longview Farms, Abundant Table, Dove (shelters for women who are abused), families in the Walpole schools, our own homebound parishioners, our knitting ministry, the senior center, and area nursing homes. We also provided cash for fuel assistance through the Blessed Sacrament St. Vincent de Paul Society and gift certificates for food to the Attleboro Soup Kitchen.

A special thanks to Trish Kuznezov and her family who coordinated the program and to all who purchased gifts and made donations, provided old Christmas cards, cut and prepared/hung 800 tags, sorted or delivered gifts, sent cards or carried all those gifts to the Community Room, helped at the plant workshop, or drove to Pine Street Inn, and lots of behind the scene tasks. Well done!

Our sisters and brothers in Haiti need our help.
