We're proud to welcome Spanish-speaking experts from Hunter who will be in our Richmond classroom on Wednesday, February 15 teaching technical seminars on residential irrigation system and LED landscape lighting design. Spanish-speaking professionals are cordially invited to attend either the morning session from 8-noon or the afternoon session from 1-5. Register now!

 

A complimentary lunch will be served between noon and 1 pm. Both subjects will be covered in the morning and afternoon sessions, so it is necessary to attend only one session.

 

The seminar is free, the lunch is free and class materials are free! San Francisco and Mill Valley customers driving to Richmond will receive $10 in cash to help cover the cost of the commute. We encourage carpooling and ride sharing, and remind those who choose to attend the morning session that traffic on I-80 and 580 can be slow.

Introduction to Rainwater Harvesting

ARCSA's 100-Level Workshop is a one-day introductory course for anyone interested in general knowledge about rainwater harvesting. This course provides an overview of rainwater harvesting history, methods and applications, including concepts and techniques for uses such as landscape irrigation and wildlife management. Participants will be introduced to the concepts and techniques for harvesting rain passively in rain gardens, green roofs and proper landscape design, as well as the use of more complex active systems using a catchment container. Rain simulation and a simple rainfall harvesting system are used to reinforce concepts. References for further study are provided.

ARCSA's 200-Level Accredited Professional (AP) Workshop   
Monday and Tuesday, February 20 - 21, 2012

  ARCSA's 200-Level "Accredited Professional" Workshops are open to the public and any industry professional interested in pursuing greater understanding of rainwater harvesting. The workshop is required for those seeking ARCSA Accredited Professional (AP) designation. This two-day course provides an in-depth review of rainwater harvesting design and installation; outdoor and in-home rainwater use; sanitation for potable uses; rules, regulations, guidelines and restrictions; business management; project planning; site and installation safety; and system construction and maintenance. The course will follow the Texas A&M University "Rainwater Harvesting Planning" manual, which is included in the cost.
 
This course qualifies for USGBC Continuing Education credits. Lunch is provided.  Registration at: www.arcsa.org

  ARCSA's Design and Construction Workshops are two-day courses designed to give attendees a chance to put their knowledge into practice in designing and constructing an active rainwater collection system. Participants will develop a design plan, site plan, calculate sizing and material to use, and then following through with the step-by-step construction of one or more complete systems by the end of the 2 days.
