As we headed back to Boston on Sunday afternnon, August 1st, there was a sadness that our time in Maine was over and great excitiment to be headed home to tell everyone about all the fun we had. This letter was composed by the kids. Elizabeth & Captain John had some suggestions but this is truly their words.
To: All our new friends at the Small Reach Regatta,
Thank you so much for inviting us and making it possible for us to join you. The dinners, especially the lobster, were delicious. We had a great time sailing and eating lunch on the islands, meeting new friends and sharing our smores with everyone. We all enjoyed playing with the dogs, especially Duncan; thank you Steve.
The new experiences were exciting, from looking at all the different boats to playing in salt water. Some of the highlights of sailing included learning how to tack, sailing through big waves and learning how to tie knots.
We had a great time and will definitely be sailing in the future.
Thanks again for inviting us and we hope to see you all again next year.
Your new friends,
Manny, Freddy and Julia
