Boston Family Boat Building announces the opening of its new maritime education classroom and boat building shop in historic Building 125 at the Charlestown Navy Yard. Visit us during our open house celebration on Sunday, November 15, from 1 to 5 PM. Boston Family Boat Building will be exhibiting the great work we do with students from the Boston Public Schools studying navigation, maritime history and building their own boats. Please come view all our student projects and see our new classroom and shop.

Atlantic Maritime Heritage Foundation will host a Community Open House, November 15 from 1 to 5 PM at Building 125 on Baxter Road, Pier 3 in the Charleston Navy Yard, Boston. In addition to Boston Family Boat Building, you will be able to visit Lowell's Boat Shop. Lowell's is dedicated to preserving and perpetuating the art and craft of wooden boat building and will lead our event with boat building, knot tying and basket making. Visitors will be able to observe a class in progress, participate and/or observe demonstrations with Lowell's expert instructors and register for upcoming classes. For further information visit:
